Which show had the biggest negative impact on western animation by inspiring a bunch of lame rip offs?

Adventure Time had the worst general impact, but Steven Universe had the worst impact in the specific category of shipping and melodrama. Adventure Time walked so Steven Universe could run rampant and inspire a bottomless, tarry deluge of LGBT pandering, tacked on romance and characters crying every five seconds.

I don't feel like it inspired any rip-offs. I wouldn't consider the melodrama coming from SU, cartoons need years to be made so I doubt stuff like She-Ra and such was directly inspired by it
IF you are right though than my vote goes to SU and strangely I think that SU did some very cool things so if this is true than the rip-offs are stealing the bad parts of it while ignoring the good ones.

I have never watched AT due to the ugly drawing style and the (imo) dumb first episode so not so idea what it inspired.

Adventure Time had the melodrama because of Rebecca Sugar, which in turn led to her having a foot in the industry and getting her own show. Adventure Time's at fault for Rebecca getting to create Steven Universe which lead to more of that.

Yup I agreed as well. Gravity falls was great at the time but looking back it had a lot of flaws and Mabel was a shitty character. Second season was pretty bad as well. Shows like OTGW, Infinity Train, and Amphibia are better imo.

steven universe is absolute trash. It offensive to even compare that piece of shit to AT or Gravity falls. .

I feel like GF is one of those series Iwould have enjoyed a lot with 12 but when I watched it never got me. In the end I only liked Stan and Ford.

Other shows had it before. Chowder, Flapjack, Lazlo, EEaE, Fosters, Spongebob, Fairy Oddparents, fucking bugs bunny. AT just used it more because the setting was less grounded and it allowed the writers to make it really random.

Some of the most talked about and hyped moments in AT was when lore bits would be dropped, and leading up to the finale with the comet people where excited. The first time we saw the planet was missing a chunk, Simons tapes, fin and jake finding prismo,what was under Susan’s hat. The pay off may have been shit but that’s only because the buildup was good.

It’s about the same as any other cartoon. Not every scene is going to be super fluid and expressive, that’s how it is when your making a 10min cartoon on a weekly basis.

I agree with this. One of the only good moments was when Finn flipped out on bubblegum when she was trying to keep him and flame from being a thing. But then they turned around and screwed it up because he kept having wet dreams.

Popular thing got popular and inspired others to try and copy it in hopes to get that popular money. Not AT fault you have tunnel vision and fixate on one show that you think has ruined everything instead of just calling the bad shows bad because they are just bad.

AT. It has all those qualities of all the shows you listed and was 10x more popular than GF and SU combined.
GF is and has been irrelevant, yesterdays news for years now and SU is heading at full speed to the same position.

As the very first show, Adventure Time naturally holds the greatest responsibility for killing western animation. Steven Universe is a very close second. Gravity Falls was alright; I'd sooner blame randumb shitshows like Regular Show or the Amazing World of Gumball for killing good animated shows.

Oh, and Teen Titans Go is definitely further diesel fuel on the dumpster fire.

Shame Finncel died alone

Gravity Falls. Adventure Time took to long to find its identity and died almost overnight when GF appeared, and Tranny Universe was never good. The big shows right now like Owl House and Amphibia are spawned from the Manlet's head, while pretty much everyone from AT is in the soup line these days.
