Unsounded

Hetr's starting to reach Aldish levels of theatricality here.

>Keon DID find them
lmao rip

Hey, watch your hand there, Emil

The most noteworthy thing here is Toma getting a handful.

He'll fight Duane and the whole fight will just be them shouting opera quotes at each other like a pretentious rap battle

Pretentiousness should be met with pretentiousness, he's an honorable man

Seems like all the best boys are grabbing some ass this chapter.

Booty butt cheeks.

I'm amazed it's Toma doing it and not Elka.

I bet every part of Elka feels nice.

Hetr chose the wrong nemesis; if he wants someone to scream purple prose at, he has to go with the angry aldishman, not the straight-laced captain.

Man Hetr that line is practically operatic. Do you think he fancies himself a chronicler?

I think Ashley has said a few times that Hetr is very much a man who is concerned with how history will view this coup (and himself); he wants good, impressive, and glorious as optics for this.

No kidding. Strong arms, fat ass, big milkers, healthy khert ports
Even if he doesn't consciously realize it, Emil knows what's good

So Minnow said she'd "find a wright" a few pages ago, she's definitely going to bump into Duane again, isn't she?

the unsounded text page was saying something about "choose from the severely limited amount of wrights very carefully minnow" so yes
definitely
and duane's gonna fuck shit up
remember, this is the chapter where we're supposed to hate duane

>Ashley is going to sink the Duane/Minnow ship EVEN HARDER

>so yes definitely
How does she get inside? It could still be interesting having her choose a different wright. Especially if she ended up choosing poorly.

Bruh you can't make it any harder than literally "he cannot even be around her because he can't get wet and also he's married and a loyal husband stop shipping them you lil shidssss".
'tis a shilly ship.

So you're saying there's a chance

Elka's right there. If the other stormies can keep Keon distracted, it'd be pretty easy to bump into each other

I just... think they're cute together, is all. And we know he thinks she's pretty.

Also, frankly, for all the "loyal husband" talk, I know I'm not the only one who expects his eventual reunion with Leysa to be a deeply horrifying and unsettling one. Maybe I'm pessimistic, but I do not expect a truly happy, "I still love you husband!" sort of reunion. I think any hope Duane had of happiness with his wife died when he did. So I guess I want him to find happiness where he can.

user HE'S MARRIED
AND VERY MUCH DEAD

Keon's right there too. She could just as well turn to him for help.

This is nitpicking but, how did he know they were going to come out of that side of the tent?

>Maybe I'm pessimistic, but I do not expect a truly happy, "I still love you husband!" sort of reunion.
Ashley mentioned once that it's common practice to remarry, and that Lemuel being Duane's single brother would be expected to marry Leysa in order to take care of his family. Duane's not Leysa's husband anymore, and he knows this.
I assume he didn't, and instead just saw her hand there by chance.

I wonder what alderode does if the dead husband comes back like if they were a MIA presumed dead but were a POW in bitch queen land and then escaped

It'd take a lot for something like that to happen given they all get marriage brands that can sense their partner. being taken to a FM faraday cage like Juste or Uaid maybe. Or having the brand carved out?

and die

but then again, it'd be some SHTF stuff if Minnow goofs up and shows Hetr's group the secret entrance ignorant to their purpose there

The line IS till death do us part.

> marriage brands only work in Alderode. Other countries don’t use them at all anyway, they’re kind of creepy.

Yes but I think he's saying if the person in question makes it BACK to the dammakhert where the connection would presumably be reestablished

That's part of why I think it could happen. I find it hard to believe he wouldn't kill her immediately if it did, and Minnow's involvement in the story obviously isn't done yet. But maybe he'd see her as a useful tool at ending the wrath and maybe even redirecting it to the shrine by playing the kind, sympathetic wright. Keon's not stupid by any stretch, and all we need is another wright like Elka there to keep Keon occupied after so Minnow can get away.

true but that doesn't really answer the question of what would alderode do if the husband thought dead returns alive

Probably as has been said. Legally voided, sucks to be you. Maybe get some help from the state/church finding a new bride. But it's unlikely they'd forcibly axe the new marriage unless one or both of the people decide to break it off

Well shit, where were we told that. I can't find it anywhere. I knew the second half, but I assumed it'd still keep on working so long as one of you were alive, regardless of circumstances.

>so long as one of you were alive
Both, rather.

>Alderode engages in some limited cooperation with Sharteshane when it comes to their khert-hubs, but draws the line at supporting their twinned First Materials, citing security concerns. Every other country’s is banned outright. So marriage brands only work in Alderode. Other countries don’t use them at all anyway, they’re kind of creepy.

This makes me wonder what would happen to someone who medically died and was promptly resuscitated. I know their medical knowledge isn't advanced enough for this to happen, but if it did, would the marriage brand stay dead, or would it skip, pause, and resume its natural hum? If the husband and wife were apart when this happened, and then saw each other after, would the 'living' partner even believe their spouse was who they claimed?
