why was it canned?
Why was it canned?
Do I look like a canning expert?
Made a million references, crossovers and waifus but, never drew a dime because it never took anything seriously.
It wasn't good
CN execs didn't understand it.
Millions of 90s humor and crossovers And rarely an episode about the main plot.
We don't know, anyone that gives you an answer is full of shit, why are you even asking?
Guns are fun and don't let any lying grabbers tell you otherwise.
Second post, best post
Too horny
I said this as someone who liked the show.
It was kind of shitty and formulaic in the worse way, The characters are great, but the show itself from the animation to the formula of spelling out the moral lesson of the episode had a lot to be desired.
Not enough merch.
The games didn't make too much money. The first game was too small-scale and the second game's art turned a lot of people off despite being a good game, though it was shorter and simpler than I'd like.
The "woke cartoon" slot was taken by SU, and thus wasn't made visibly woke enough for social media drones to latch onto.
Took away from TTGo's airtime.
Zig Forums's taste of it was soured by the gun control episode, and a lot of shitposting came of that, too.
Didn't advertise that it was created by a black man, and was made too early to draw in the recent BLM fanatics.
One of my favorite modern cartoons, though. I need to rewatch it when I get a chance.
Because it wasn't nearly as engaging as it thought it was.
The overarching plot wasn't on the levels of AT and SU so I guess the modern audience didn't care enough for the mysteries on the show. It was also very clearly not for the target CN demographic, what 12 year old is going to get 4kids dub jokes and references to 2008 Youtube AMVs down to the white text on a blue background? OK KO is my favorite cartoon ever and I've gotten my GF hooked on it too, but I wouldn't expect my little sister, who's like 12, to enjoy it because it goes for an audience that's currently around or in their 20s.
I also remember reading that the OK KO game, Let's Play Heroes, didn't sell very well which made CN think the show wouldn't do well as a multimedia franchise, hence why it was canned a year and a half after it started airing, or something like that.
Either way OK KO is full of soul, people who go "lole its just references" clearly didn't watch the show. A lot of the work on the show was unappreciated, Zig Forums called it lazy because of it's visual style of trying to make everything look like a pencil sketch, not knowing that all the exaggerated faces and shot would require new model sheets and thus would take more effort than religiously staying on model. I'll love it to death but knowing it was cancelled doesn't shock me. Still hurts though, I wanted a Fink backstory arc.
bump
It had a good first season but if just died after a point.
>that ass
understandable. Also, why did ian draw al the girls so thicc?
THERE WAS A SECOND GAME?!
union rules for animated shows state that staff must be paid more if a show runs for more than 2 seasons. networks go around this by cancelling anything after season 2
Because there was no real effort put into the writing, most of it is just silly references, and attempts at developing characters just seem forced and don't work well.
because they never aired it.
I'm actually just starting to watch this and Mao Mao back to back with a friend, they have a very similar vibe to them. The big difference to me though that makes Mao Mao way better is they don't break the 4th wall constantly. There's some fun to be found in breaking the 4th wall, but even in a not seriously taken world, it helps to have some grounding. A big part of humor is subverting an expectation and OK KO can't do that because it's so all over the place I have no expectations.
>Zig Forums's taste of it was soured by the gun control episode
I dont understand this considering most of you act like pansy limpwristed faggots about every little thing, is half this board /k/?
ah yes. Criticism so generic you cant even work out what medium it is, let alone identify the show.
it amazes me how many people misinterpret the message of the gun control episode
>The overarching plot wasn't on the levels of AT and SU so I guess the modern audience didn't care enough for the mysteries on the show.
And that's a good thing, seeing that it took a huge dump on all those mysteries. Seriously, everything in this show has some dumb meme explanation, even power levels got fucked up in the end.
Even sjw hated that episode, that's how cringy it was.
So you're admitting it's on-point?
its as "on point" for ok ko as it is for star wars, boby dick, sienfeld and othello. Its so general that its completely meaningless. But im sure you'll prove me wrong by giving an example from an episode. You know, because you definitely watched the show and didnt just come here to fling shit?
More like outrage farming Zig Forums fags looking for reasons to get pissed off at "liberalism" in children's cartoons.
Does cartoon network allow unions?
