What convinced you to start watching the show? For me I was just browsing Zig Forums around the time Domino Effect/Taking Charge had aired. I ventured into the thread because I had nothing else going on and saw that a lot of people here really liked the show, so I decided to watch the first episodes that Disney had put up on youtube and was immediately drawn in by the world and the characters and how enjoyable they were. Best Fronds really hooked me and had me really wanting to know what happens to these characters. As the show has gone on I've found myself really invested in these characters and their relationships. along with the good humor, great atmosphere, and the genuinely dark and emotional moments in the show. I'm really glad that I decided to check Amphibia out after seeing the hype for it.

In the behind the scenes video starring Kermit, one of her traits is listed as "over achiever". We see in the flashbacks that Marcy is so smart that she just spends most of her time in school playing video games because getting good grades doesn't take a lot of effort from her.
I think she's bored with Earth and Amphibia gives her the thrill and adventure she desires, it would fit with her inconsiderate nature.
