Animation takes a lot of time. I'm just glad the series isn't dead.

Well this was a nice surprise to wake up to. Do wish there was a little more to it though, but I'll live.

Nothing confirmed as far as I know. However, Maya and the mother (who is seen in what I think was supposed to be a petje-exclusive comic) actually look quite a lot alike, so it wouldn't surprise me if she's the sole biological child in the family. It'd also add another layer to Maya's self esteem and socializing issues if so.
But, the fact that she's specifically from somewhere OTHER than where they are now, and this is somehow pertinent, considering Coco and Mymy have been in the family since their own childhoods, might point to her being adopted and just coincidentally looking a lot like her adopted mother.

I find the angle of her being so socially stunt that she's has imaginary friends that are pushing her to be even more socially stunt interesting tho

I live in Friesland, more precisely Leeuwarden. The best thing about the place is the fact we are far away from the Randstad AND are out of earthquake-range with Groningen. The worst thing is Frisian boomers who refuse to speak Dutch with you, even to those who can't understand Frisian.
