From my own experience, latino parents are conservative, homophobic, racist, etc. But when a member of their own family is one of those, they support them (while maybe still shitting on their backs tho)

They just don't throw spanish words randomly across their sentences (except for vocatives). That's why the show did a good job at spanish dialogues and some of the fan content feels odd.
