yeah a large number of convictions are done out of confessions of convenience. Legal process is a pain and many lawyers recommend confessions for guaranteed lighter sentences.

At age 80 you don't confess to crimes that land you 3 to 10 years in jail. There's nothing convenient about throwing away what's left of your life. There's no reason to think that Cosby is innocent in this other than you like Cosby or inherently distrust anyone who claims they were raped. Again the man admitted to his crime and was sentenced by a court of law. This is not a she-said he-said. They're both saying the same shit.
