So, the idea they are trying to convey is that all anime looks the same, but they are focusing on staging instead of artstyle. Which is stupid, because of course there are going to be similar shots across shows: how the fuck many ways do you think there are to put two characters on a screen talking to each other? What are you going to do, jam the POV up somebodies nostril just to keep it """unique""""? If you want the scene composition to be pleasing and balanced, the number of options that look good is actually fairly narrow, and thats true REGARDLESS of the style the characters are drawn in. They could be stick figures and you would still want them to take up that much of the screen and be spaced that far apart for the shot.
They even run out of good material for the middle bit and have to use stuff that doesn't actually support their argument, which is why they speed it way the fuck up so you don't have time to notice the different poses so they can maintain the illusion that it all looks the same.
The final irony being that 90% of all western shows do the simpsons 3/4ths perspective thing, which is inargueably way more repetitive than even the shot composition from a single anime, much less the medium as a whole.

Why would Zig Forums seethe? They have the shows they want. Every three months they get another wheelbarrow full of shows dumped on their doorstep to look through and pick the ones they consider worth watching.
Zig Forums, meanwhile, is still fucking talking about Avatar the Last Airbender and Gravity Falls and Steven Universe. The same fucking shows you were talking about 5 years ago, because *its all you fucking have*. You get so little content worth watching that you have to defend the hell out of it because if you held yourself to higher standards you would have even less to watch. The rest of it is so clearly aimed at elementary schoolers that its unwatchable for an adult.
