The problem with everything Matrix is how far it drifted from the original concepts to make a more entertaining movie/game. The Animatrix is the closest to the original ideas, and it’s there that the allegories are still recognizable.
I think the end statements aren’t really political one way or the other, at least not any more than other works that hold up mirrors to human nature while musing on purpose and religion without taking a stand.
