Shippers are absolute cancer and destroy any discussion about a show, while screaming that it's totally discussion to just spam random shipping fanart. They're a plague on discussion, even discussion that doesn't involve the fandom directly, because they'll weasel their way into any discussion that they can to spam their shipping garbage. They're the lowest of the low, an absolute blight, the highest degree of cancer. Fuck shipping and fuck shippers.

It's worth noting that they're among the only kinds of people that will nonironically post the tumblr art that looks like actual cancer. Not just a red nose here and a swirly kneecap there, but the whole fucking setup with the big fat noses and eyebrows and changed skin tones. It's unbelievable, and because the threads have already been shit down too far no one says anything to them and if they do it's just more fuel.

I dont have a problem with shipping in principle. I have a problem with rabid crackheads go too far and start to impact the writers with death threats, or god forbid, they actually infiltrate the writer's room in later seasons and hijack the show due to the creator not having a set of balls.

Yeah, it’s disturbing that shows are being written with potential fandom and shippers in mind. Watching showrunners interact with fan artists and liking ship art is already creepy. I miss when shipping was something of a taboo subject that outright banned from discussing with crew/cast members as it made them uncomfortable.

I agree. I'm ultra lonely and I still haven't gotten into actual shipping. I like the dynamics of like 2 ships that aren't canon and enjoy seeing art of it but I don't actively search for it nor do I partake in discussion of it. You have to either be a specific kind of low or along the lines of a rabid fujoshi girl.

When new writers get hired in season 2+ and act as sleeper agents that drive a show from what the creator originally intended, or even worse, they boot the creator out, it's hijacking. It's happened quite a few times recently actually.
