Nah, it was early 80s.

Love this run, how the fuck is it so underrated. Was on its way to being as good as Starman.

Zig Forums would have gone crazy for this back in the day

Best Moore

I'm reading this right now, it's so fun. "What if Hulk was the only emotionally mature adult in the Marvel Universe" is such a good hook

I gotta read Impulse, Waid era Flash is my fucking jam.

The best. The 90s didn't deserve this series but we got it anyway

2000s

It's so fucking good. Waid's best work imo

Was the 90s were comics peaked?

Ok so what happened with the Xmen between Phoenix and House of M?

I liked both of those things so presumably there's something in the 90s I'd like too.

Very late 90s but this series was the shit. More great JSA content from this era

I sadly only read Waid’s big arcs, not the full run issue by issue ive only read
>chain lightning
>the return of barry allen
>born to run
>terminal velocity
>dead heat

Definitely DC's peak. Rode under the Image/Marvel headlines just enough to churn out some stone-cold classic runs without getting involved in all the industry drama

Knightfall.

80s or 00s marvel were peak to me.

You really should read the whole run. the best issues were the smaller stories in-between the big arcs (which were good, but not Waid's biggest strength).

Stray Bullets, baby

Yeah, Shooter and Quesada were both good EICs for a while there

90's Aquaman is pretty awesome, too.

The Kesel/Grummett runs on Superboy were pretty badass.

He had his moments. Too bad PAD can't plot for shit, but there were still some good issues in that run.

What have I done? Creating this thread is just a reminder of how shit modern cape comics are.

DC just needs to go back to having good creators telling actual stories instead of playing editorial tug-of-war with hacks like Snyder, King, Tynion and Johns. Hell, I'd take Johns over the mess the rest of the line is. Three Jokers is one of the best DC comics in ages, and that's not toally a compliment.

"The Atlantis Chronicles" was 10/10, but I'm not sure if that counts.
