NuGorillaz videos

>entire video they’re either facing the camera or looking directly to the side with very few exceptions
>when they aren’t they’re almost always in a static position or they’re entirely CG or their heads are on CG bodies
Anybody else notice this? Is Hewlitt a hack?

They have a miniscule, practically non-existent animation budget, it's a miracle they've even made this many videos for Sound Machine so far

This. They clearly aren't focused on the animation for song machine. I'm glad the actual music makes up for it though.

I still look forward to their new stuff. The music is good, and the videos are simple but fun.

I do miss the level of lore and animation that Plastic Beach had though. They were super ambitious with everything back in the day following the success of Demon Days, but they clearly didn't have the time/budget to follow through on everything they wanted to do with it in the end.

Desole and PacMan are the only ones I added to my playlist

Same here

For a while it seemed like the actually characters were more or less retired for good with Albaren just bouncing around on stage, that they're being used in material at all is a surprise, much less as much as they are now.

This and Aries.

Momentary Bliss rubs me just the right way for some reason. Oof it's good.

How much black dick do you think Albarn takes on the reg

Desole gives me really nostalgic Plastic Beach vibes. Just the right blend of calming and sad.

if the gorillaz arent going to put any effort into the art and animation then it means albarn is the only one doing anything

and if albarn is the only one doing anything then we're just blur v2

I fucking miss when Gorillaz was (comparatively) melancholic and dark, that was like their thing, its why they all looked so fucking ugly

Zoomers are now nostalgic for Plastic Beach, blissfully unaware that it was never good and was widely considered to be the worst Gorillaz album shortly after release

Up on Melancholy Hill is still the best to come out of Plastic Beach.

Demon Days > Plastic Beach > Gorillaz > The Now Now > Humanz

Would you say that... We could do so much better than this?

Humanz really grew on me over The Now Now.
The Now Now kinda reminded me of The Fall.

Damon sucks up all of the funding up his ass on getting these high costing features and just tells hewlitt "lol just draw it you dont need the money" The amount of times they've made up just makes me think damon promises him a big cut of the sales to make a new album because he knows without the art and characters people won't care as much.

Yeah it was the worst album
the other 2 albums were self titled and fucking demon days
PB's a good album

but the fall was actually good and sounded like gorillaz though

I really liked a few stand-out tracks from Humanz after listening to it a few times, but I guess I thought The Now Now was more consistently decent across the board, even if nothing really stood out as amazing to me. It was just kind of mellow and laid back, while Humanz was more experimental and had less of Albarn himself.

way I see it every Gorillaz album has been good, so even though I'd definitely agree that Humanz is the weakest album they've done, it's still like at least an 8.5 out of 10, cause it's issues aren't that it has any bad songs, just that some of it's songs just don't really feel like proper Gorillaz songs, basically it's best to treat Humanz as a Compilation Album that the Gorillaz curated and contributed to rather than as a standard Gorillaz album(much like how The Fall is basically a 2D solo album sold under the Gorillaz name)

basically Song Machine is definitely a "Take Two" on the idea they had with Humanz

makes sense from a lore perspective considering Murdoc was in jail so The Now Now is basically mostly 2D's project, that and them having a new band member(Ace) easily explains why The Now Now is a tad safer in some respects musically than Humanz was

All of them have been fantastic so far.

I'm just glad were getting SOMETHING. It's a little bit ridiculous to me a band that can get Elton John is having budgetary restraints on the animation... oh well.

Honestly the only one I don't find infectiously catchy is the one with Octavian. Haven't listened to the one.they just dropped though

how do i get a noodle gf
