Does King Kong count?
actually a pretty neat idea for a thread, I'm not old enough to remember a time before 9/11, so it's interesting to see the towers in stuff like this
COMING SOON
Yeah, this is the peak of "aged poorly" content.
This one is creepy honestly
Juggernaut destroying the Twin Towers while laughing.
I’m more disturbed by the way he’s drawn.
>this many depictions of the twin towers getting destroyed
Sheesh it must have been some kind of collective American nightmare before it ever even happened, like you all thought "What's the worst thing that could happen to us?" and it's a couple of buildings getting thrown down.
Don't forget Osama had his first crack at taking them down in 1993.
The fuck is up with the mouth?
He just got back from having his jaw dislocated by Hulk's cock.
It's interesting, yes.
I mean, it's only obvious now because of what happened later. How many times is the White House blown up in a movie, or the Houses of Parliament, or the Eiffel Tower? It was just a trope of adventure fiction.
How fucking wide is this boy to be able to stand on both towers at the same time?
Can someone please post the fairly odd parents one? I lost it after my hard drive shat bricks
Twin Towers and Pentagon in the 1994 Iron Man cartoon
What size are the planes, helicopters, and woman if he’s big enough to do that?
The fact that it was such a fantastic unbelievable idea is exactly why it gave Americans PTSD for the next ten years
The Uncanny X-Men #189
I thought it was just a reference to Die Hard
Im old enough to remember the statue of libertys renovation...
I have that comic, the entire thing was meant to be read sideways.
There's not two towers and it's probably a Towering Inferno reference.
Hey don't slander my boy.
That's not one of the towers. Black Tom blew up one of the towers.
The text of the comic itself says they only blew up one one of the towers. Tom Set the bombs and only brought Cain in to keep people busy.
Later in this issue Cable is still standing in the partially blow up tower so logically Cain did not do 9/11.
But this time he has shoes
>Cain did not do 9/11.
Well unless it was the eleventh day if September in whatever year it happened, yeah, that’s obvious.
I really can't stand that sideways trend of the 90s. No one ever seems to bring it up when talking about the comics of that era, but at least half the books at least had a splash page you had to turn the book sideways for.
They were a pretty iconic landmark when they were still around. It would be interesting though to go back and see how often people pick them to destroy over other iconic NY skyscrapers like the Empire State Building, because I can't think of many examples and I don't know if that's just because 9/11 retroactively made all the twin tower depictions much more memorable or if they were actually destroyed more often.
