I'm not clicking that shit without an explanation. What is this? A movie? A show? Why do I care?

It's a movie, dipshit.

looks nice

These people made
>The Secret of Kells
>Song of the Sea
>The Breadwinner

All of these are very pretty with great animation, with mythical themes.

They better fuck.

Been looking forward to this for years. I remember when it was announced, it was gonna be released in 2018.

>$19 for a rental
>more than a movie ticket
>Please note: This film is available to screen between 6pm and 9pm. You must start and finish the film during this time.
>Streaming video service. Sold out.
Jesus. Fucking. Christ.
No. I'm not going to help make shit like this normal.
Fuck you. Fuck Disney. And fuck everyone else who thinks they can price gouge movies and tak on dumbass time restrictions and trying to limit the amount of a DIGITAL ASSET!
It's like they don't want my money.
I was looking forward to this for a long time and had fully intended to pay to support the creators.
Now though, I'll be pirating.

You guys can not seriously be considering giving money to these fucks? What are you normalfags? If there's one thing nerds know how to do, it's developing supply lines and networks.

>You guys can not seriously be considering giving money to these fucks
Well, I WAS.
I loved Secret of the Kells & Song of the Sea.
But my God, they're fucking this release up. I'm not supporting these shit policies.

>sold out of digital file
And they wonder why people pirate.

>lesbian cartoon #37376

If it were $25 or $30 dollars, I’d say they can fuck off. But $20 isn’t that much more than a movie ticket around where I live, so I might go for it.

This wouldn’t have gotten a wide release in the first place, so if I saw it in the theater, I would have had to shell out a train ticket to go see it in an overpriced hipster arthouse theater anyway, like I did for Song of the Sea.

And I probably wouldn’t pay $20 for a digital rental if it wasn’t for a movie I’ve been hyped for for about 4 years, in a movie market full of nothing but crap for a while now, AND coming out of a relatively small and obscure studio that has turned out nothing but gold for me.

I think the practice of charging like this for a digital rental is principally crap, but this is one of the few extreme cases where I’m pushed to the cusp of making an exception. Only way they could sway me in their favor further is if I had a friend that personally worked on the movie. And I still think the pricetag is high for what they give you.

Hey cool, I was not expecting them to make this online or available to US. Thanks for the heads up.
You have serious autism if you do not know what a film festival is or think Disney is in any way related to the $20 tag.

Imagine being this pleb, like holy shit, man, how come you can see yourself every morning in the mirror without throwing up your guts?

>hating on Cartoon Saloon

In other context I would give you one point, but Moore is literally carrying on his shoulder the entire irish animation industry by himself, I think the man deserves it.

And of course I'm going to pirate the movie but not because "muh greedy retail store bas" but because I truly consider that the movie deserves to be known for more people, since Moore is one of the best animation directors from the last couple years.

>Being this obsessed
Moore doesn't like gay shit, he stated that in the Q&A from the Annecy, he only wats cute irish loli in their cartoons.

> think Disney is in any way related to the $20 tag
I don’t think Disney necessarily influenced this decision, but from a consumer standpoint, seeing this right next to ads for the $30 Mulan rental at least feels comparable.

Alright who's gonna pirate it?

You’re still taking about this like it’s a general release. Consumer standpoint? This is a film festival targeting festival goers. I’ve been going to festivals for years and $20 for a single showing is pretty much standard.

Wolfwalkers is going to Apple+ some time around October or November. That is their release plan.

You’re not going to a festival though. You’re gonna be sitting in your house.

>Rent: $19
Bloody hell, tickets in TIFF weren't this expensive

On one hand I’m excited to watch the movie, on the other I hate playing for something in my own home that I don’t get to own (and you basically never do when it comes to digital purchases even if they aren’t rentals, unless it’s a service where DRM removal is easy like iTunes).
Plus, since this is a “festival screening” technically where the main point is to create buzz and get reviews written up, possibly win awards if they’re lucky, very little of that ticket price (if any) is going to go to the creators of the film and instead will just go to the organization that runs the festival.
I’m leaning towards just waiting for the proper release since I have free ATV+ anyway

BTW, $19 Canadian is $14.41 US

> The final instalment in directors Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart’s “Irish folklore trilogy” is a stunning testament to their singular animation style and storytelling skills. With visual references to pre-Celtic imagery and Studio Ghibli alike — and some catchy songs — Wolfwalkers is an instant classic for all ages.

It’s a musical? That’s news to me

weren't the other 2 musicals too?

Musical, no. Great music segments, yes.
youtube.com/watch?v=06ht9MyJLT4

No. They each had a non-diegetic song or two for dialogue-light scenes and use of vocals in the score, but no characters breaking out into song.
That’s probably what they mean here, though “catchy songs” makes me think of something more upfront and energetic than the music in the other two, which tended towards atmospheric

some people shouldn't have any right to be on internet. Specially the ones who don't know anything about Cartoon Saloon.

It’s been so long since Cartoon Saloon put out a movie, I can’t even blame the baby anons who just found the board for not knowing about it. Really shows their newfaggotry, though.

Now that Wolfwalkers' gonna be out, i wanna know what happened to pic related.
It's been in production since 2018 at least, and is supposed to be out this year. Disney was co-producing this.
Did Covid affecter (of killed) production, Or it's gonna be out eventually?
