I was never a Full 9/11 Truther but I do admit to a phase where I was a "Lesser 9/11 Truther". [Islamic Terrorists still did it, but the Government knew enough that they could have prevented it if they wanted to but consciously chose not to because they knew they could take advantage of the political atmosphere it would create.]
But even that seems to require too much competence.
I do kind of like "9/11 Truther Trutherism". [Islamic Terrorists did it, a lot of the early 9/11 conspiracy theorists actually worked for the government to push the theories because they made W's WH look totally competent, just also evil.

"The government knew about 9/11 but did nothing to stop it in order to justify invading Iraq" is unlikely but at least plausible.
"The government directed the whole thing, making sure these terrorists would crash their planes into the WTC" is even more unlikely but still within the realm of plausibiliy.
"The government put bombs in the towers without anyone noticing in order to ensure they went down because the planes wouldn't be enough for that" is just retarded. Why would the government even bother? Just crashing 2 planes into the towers is more than enough death and destruction to justify whatever policies they wanted. What's the point other than risking getting caught and fucking up the whole intricate plan by entrusting even more people into perpetual silence and needing to pay off/eliminate countless experts after the fact?
