I find it strange people like this don't follow their own advice and stop posting here. This place is a bigger time sink and addiction problem than any video game or cartoon could ever hope it be.
The difference between Bill and the rest is that he never grew up. He’s perpetually a child with the thinking of a child.
Pete and Josh might be unsavory, but they’re mature. They learned they had to work to get what they want. Pete might be a pervert who exploits actresses to get laid, but at least he has a job, and he recognizes that he’s in a shit life situation but knows it’s not permanent. Josh is an asshole but he drop out of college because he’s a failure; he’s got a plan and the ambition to work for one of the big two, and he’s working hard to get there. Jerry grew up but he’s different from the other three in that 1. he built habits of moderation 2. he improved himself and got a girlfriend and learned how to be a social person and 3. isn’t a toxic person anymore like the other three, and is a much nicer and better acclimated person. He had the common sense to leave the club recognizing its toxicity, represented in his getting out of the EXTO-1 at the comic’s conclusion.
But Bill’s unsalvageable. He doesn’t have the drive and passion to make his entrepreneurial business venture work; it failed even though he had tons of clients practically throwing money at him. He would rather read or steal other peoples’ comic books than make money and move out of his mom’s basement.
With the exception of Jerry, they might all be insufferable, but Bill is the worst. He never got it. He never grew up. He’s doomed to be a pathetic dredge on society forever, living on your tax dollars.
Eh, not forever. Once his mother dies there's no way he'll be able to step in the shoes of taking care of himself, so he'll either end up homeless, or much more likely, killing himself as the realization kicks in.
All those are good things.
