Beautiful work., but why are the Marvels in their modern costumes?
Beautiful work., but why are the Marvels in their modern costumes?
Because it's better than the original ones.
I guess the artist just liked those more.
soulless and static
Who is the bald midget in front of Mister Miracle and Big Barda?
Very weird and kinda funny how it's like Golden Age and JLI but the middle is weirdly unmoored in time. The New Teen Titans but also Doom Patrol and then Zatanna is there? and Superman because he needs to be on one. Like you could get away with a Silver Age one if it's the Superman family (Jimmy, Lois, Legion) and then i dunno Metamorpho or the Metal Men? Or Barry/more of the Satellite League?
Sandman sneaking in is also a trip
Because he designed them
They're standing around, why wouldn't it be static?
Amazing pic, who is the artist?
Gary Frank. You can tell by the faces haha
Oberon
You don't know Oberon?
He is Mr Miracle's sidekick since Kirby's run, so since his first appearence.
I'm trying and failing to think of how a 90s cover would fit in. cause 90s with Wally and then 00s with Johns' Hal. you can make a case
actually that might be a cape at the bottom right. hurm, i can't think of who has a black and red cape, Batwoman?
He did create the new look for the New 52 run, so he probably still wants to use it.
well i don't like that look that muchl
the real trinity
This is a 5G cover, The next cover will have Barry in his new 52 suit, then the last cover will be 5G with all the diversity replacements
Grown-up Dick wearing booty shorts will never not crack me up.
Golden Age/Silver Age/Bronze Age
but there are inconsistences like Power Girl just because of the JSA, and Vertigo Sandman even though he is modern age.
Captain Marvel actually makes sense if you consider he only became DC in the Bronze Age
Well they kind of were, all three of them were over on the All-American Comics side of the company while Superman and Batman were on National Comics' side
Imagine if they had split into two companies
This cover is unfinished. You can easily see Batwoman's cape for the next cover.
These are just the Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3 covers in place as a variant.
I really want to know who is going to be the central figure of the 4th cover.
Beastboy is creeping me out.
Absolutely
These covers were for the 5 unpublished generation one shots. I wonder if we will see the other 2 covers ever
I want to see. This screams incomplete.
We'll probably get some kind of complete version, but not the original one that was intended to be used for the 5G thing for obvious reasons.
I don't see Barry. Maybe him? Who else can stand next to the trinity? Aquaman? But I guess since Batwoman is in that one and in order to go along with the theme of the 3 covers, it would have to be Modern age heroes?
I find Superman weird placement funny.
Wonder Woman and the JSA makes sense because now she led the team in the distant past.
Batman and the JLI makes sense because he led the team in the past.
But Superman and the Teen Titans makes no sense because Superman has no connection to them.
JSA is a mix of the Golden Age(WW,Atom,Johnny Thunder) and Modern(Jesse Quick as Liberty Belle, Rick Tyler as Hourman, Sand, Power Girl ). Dr Fate GL, Flash, Spectre and Hawkman could be either.
Middle is 80's New Teen titans and Silver Age Doom Patrol, with timeless classic versions of Supes, Batgirl, Martian Manhunter, Hal, and Zatanna.
Then you have the JLI with the New 52 versions of Mary and Billy.Captain Atom might also be the New 52 version? Oh and Morpheus is way in the background.
I think Liberty Belle is Libby and not Jessie, due to those pants. Hourman might be a coloring mistake.
If not, I still think it should be the OG Hourman and Liberty Belle, doesn't make sense otherwise.
>All the NTT except Wally
feels wally man
Maybe he'll be in the next covers.
