shows up and creates a horde of undying light enhanced warriors with no realistic connection to their pasts.

>DC superman attempts to rip the traveler in two. becomes it's newest and most powerful avatar because his powers are fueled by the light of the sun. the justice league may learn to control the light and ends up forming the guardian corps.
>MARVEL Carol Danvers and Sentinal cannot sucesfully harm the traveler. the marvel universe goes through a massive event in which everyone is picking fights with the newly raised light bearers because the bodies were those of dead warriors that the survivors wanted to stay dead.

What is this

>DC
The justice league first moves the people that is directly under the traveler and then they try to move it away or try to communicate with it.
>Marvel
The avengers try to destroy it, then launch nukes then they realize that the civilians under the traveler now are dead and end up blaming the X-men.

What is the Traveller?

from the game destiny.
current lore has it as a creator aspect of the universe that has decided to stop allowing death to win. thus it keeps creating undying members of dying civilizations until said civilizations are sure to survive.

Agent/tool/avatar of the Light which is the Gardener, the fundamental principle that governed growth and life and complexity as the equal and opposite to the Winnower, the principle that governs death and stasis and simplicity. Together they spent their time creating and destroying omniverses in a field of possibilities until the Winnower threw the mother of all bitchfits and tried to shank the Gardener.

It's impossible to even properly speculate on that because the game never bothers to explain what the fuck the Traveller actually is. Fuck Destiny, and fuck live services. Lore is nice, but it doesn't matter worth a shit if there's not a real story around it, you useless fucks.

theres already characters in each universe that are basically paracausal anyways so i dont think it would be that different

Important to note that the Traveler was probably getting ready to abandon Earth and Sol the same way it abandoned the Fallen (one of the game's primary antagonists) and probably countless other species before a gigachad Russian AI complex named Rasputin fuckin shot it, knocked it unconscious, forcing it to release thousands of tiny robots that gave Humans superpowers.

I still think we should be cracking that sucker open to see whats inside.

See and and read Unveiling. We already know what both the Traveler and Darkness are. We also know what the Nine and Awoken are.

Going by the lore, Rasputin never shot the Traveler. It stood and fought on its own to protect humanity. Rasputin never put his operation into effect because the Traveler fought the Darkness on its own terms.

And even if Rasputin had shot at the Traveler, it probably wouldnt have accomplished anything. A single Pyramid gutted and almost killed him within his own systems, requiring Jinju (Ana Bray's Ghost) to download what was left of him into an Engram just to save him.

The Traveler could potentially grant either universe paracausal powers in everything and more. Going by the events that created the Distributary, it could even turn them all into universe-creating godheads offhand if it wanted to.

Whatever happens, the Traveler would effectively shatter the status quo as it stands.

Pretty sure Superman can punch a giant golf ball.

...

He could, but he'd break his hand. And it's not like the Traveler is there to fight. It would start terraforming the rest of the system for human habitation like it did in canon Destiny, before eventually moving over to Earth depending on circumstances.

>big faggot ball that got fucking BODIED by a retarded pissed off AI and leached of most of it's power by some fat roman faggot
This thing doesn't even register on the scale.

See . Also, Ghaul got casually annihilated by an awoken Traveler so I'm not sure why you're trying to shitpost about a game you've clearly never played.

Did the latest update fuck up the game or something?

I thought the lore so far was that we're not totally sure if Raspie shot or not and we're still unclear on what exactly the Traveler did to "fight" the Darkness during The Collapse.

The logic behind thinking Raspberry crippled the Traveler is in that the Traveler left itself vulnerable in it's preparations to leave and/or it's efforts to fight off the Darkness. Presumably Raz had been studying the Traveler for some time so it's at the very least plausible that he might have found SOME way to hurt it. In fact if you think about it, the whole reason he lost to the Pyramid ships may be because his only data on fighting paracausal entities was based on the presumption that his target would be using Light. He may not have any usable data on Dark-related paracausals.

I might just be working off out-of-date info though. Can you think of where it explicitly states that Ra-Ra-Raspootin didn't shoot?

its still so fucking funny that what you said is 100% lore correct

The lore of Destiny sounds fucking retarded. But then this is the shitty game that eschews narrative by having a character say “I don’t have time to explain how I don’t have time.”

kek thanks

>I thought the lore so far was that we're not totally sure if Raspie shot or not and we're still unclear on what exactly the Traveler did to "fight" the Darkness during The Collapse.
Everything we've learnt with the current lore completely blows the "Rasputin shot the Traveler" idea out if the water. During the Collspse, it specifically went from Io to Earth to defend it when the Darkness came.

>I might just be working off out-of-date info though. Can you think of where it explicitly states that Ra-Ra-Raspootin didn't shoot?
The Alpha Lupi grimoire more or less state it outright that the Traveler chose to stay and fight, Rasputin set the entire thing as an [IF] protocol which he signs off in regards to before the decision point, and the Forsaken Prince lore book outright mocks the idea and pokes fun at it by implying it's an in-universe rumour started and pushed by Uldren Sov. Rasputin himself outright states "she did not shrug and make herself alone", meaning LOKI'S CROWN would never be activated.

>I AM ALONE I survived alone. I cast off the shield and I shrugged my shoulders so that the billions fell off me down into the ash. They made me to be stronger than them and to learn and I learned well:

>IT is alone and IT is strong and IT won. Even over the gardener and she held power beyond me but the gardener did not shrug and make herself alone. IT always wins.

It addresses all the issues and plotholes this would bring up were it actually canon.

I can tell you don't know shit about fuck because that meme is years old by now and we have so many other bullshit lines to be pissed about these days.

Like people taking Truth to Power as fact rather than the literal lies that entire book was.

>Can you think of where it explicitly states that Ra-Ra-Raspootin didn't shoot?
There’s at least two lore entries from the Traveler’s POV where it decides to stay and fight. With that being said, Rasputin still didn’t start trusting the Guardians until recently.

Also, the main Pyramid on Io is directly equated to the Traveler in terms of power and nature. The one Rasputin got shrekt by was one of the lesser subordinates.

The only real difference between the paracausal powers of the Light and Dark is how they go about their philosophies on life: one promotes growth and complexity, one promotes simplicity and stasis.

Sorry I didn’t stick to playing a mediocre live service FPS and especially didn’t keep up in its half assed excuse for a story. You clearly don’t have anything better to do, so you stuck with it. Congrats!

But can Goku?

fucking lol that's one way to put it

>You clearly don’t have anything better to do
Not that guy, but we're all browsing a comic and cartoon board on Zig Forums. None of us have anything better to do.

>The only real difference between the paracausal powers of the Light and Dark is how they go about their philosophies on life: one promotes growth and complexity, one promotes simplicity and stasis.
>there are hundreds of pyramids of varying size and function
>only one traveler
Pottery

>fucking lol that's one way to put it
If you're a retard who has never played the games and gets all your knowledge from memes maybe.

Stay mad you don't know shit about shit, incel cuck.

The Winnower is somewhat hypocritical in case it wasn't apparent to begin with.

In Marvel it is some new cosmic abstract being that causes some trouble. Thanos or Doom want to steal it's powers or something, Heroes have to fend it off somehow and Galactus probably gets involved too.

In DC it's the white entity under a different shape.

It serves as an interesting anti-Galactus in the grand cosmic scheme of things. Even takes the form of a planet, the things that Galactus destroys. But it travels around and creates life, makes life bearing worlds out of dead rocks and brings dead people back to defend it when necessary.

I can see it being some life giving rival with heralds to Galactus' life taking shtick with heralds. It could even go get Air Walker, Red Shift, and Nova to help it out.

The pettiness of the Winnower is mindboggling.
