3x3 and recommendation thread

Rate and recommend, what are you bros reading currently? Read All Star Superman for the first time and goddamn I might need to add it, also the first comic ive finished the same day I bought it.

Don't have enough to make a 3x3, but I've been reading these three over the past year and they're great comics.

No offense, but do you read any of the stuff that gets posted in this threads you make? I've been seeing your exact same chart for months. What's the point if you're not going to read the recs you get?

To start a converstaion and have the opportunity for other people to get recs. Also maybe he is actually reading the recs and it just happens that nothing has chaged yet. Lol.

Well, I kind of add said recs to a backlog, ive been trying to clear it, a couple ive read but aren’t good enough to make it into my 3x3

Mine haven't changed much either, but I read all the time, though I've hit slump I'm just getting over.

Hey, I’ve been seeing you for quite awhile now.
Nice selections user!

Thanks!

I've got two. Here's the first (my real top 9, but kind of entry-level Zig Forums stuff)

And here are 9 more 10/10s I love that are a little less well-known

When the hell does Invincible get good? I finished volume 2 and thought it was okay

I got hooked about issue 13 or so (the big fight issue). It peaks at around issue 75, but there's plenty of good stuff before and after that.

I'd give it another trade or two. If you're still not feeling it, it might just not be for you.

For me, my color 3x3 is essentially an entry-level comics grid, and this black and white 3x3 is the lesser known material.
>Luther Arkwright
Nice. Have you read the sequel? I might have asked you this already.

Haven't read many comics recently. Thinking about checking out Morrison's Doom Patrol and Luther Arkwright. I want to read more serious/"high brow" comics but most of the time they bore me.

No, I only found it existed a few months ago on Zig Forums. I desperately want to, though.

Some at least quasi- "thinking man's comics" that don't bore the hell out of me:

>Morrison's Doom Patrol (I'd go with this one)
>Luther Arkwright (another solid choice)
>The Filth
>Dry Spell
>The Books of Magic (the original Gaiman miniseries)
>The Sandman (if you liked Books of Magic)
>Preacher
>100 Bullets (if you like crime comics)
>Casanova (if you like Pynchon and/or Jerry Cornelius novels)
>DMZ (if you like slice-of-life/war comics)
>Sleeper
>The Incal
>Young Liars
>Heavy Liquid
>Ex Machina
>Y: The Last Man

I feel like comics don't ever really get too high brow as to cause boredom. I usually get bored by subject matter, and it's mostly quirky autobios/memoirs that do this.
I didn't much like Moonshadow, because of the subject matter and the approach, not because there was a lot of text and references.

You read much Ales Kot? He made me understand what my non-comics reading friends said they felt when I was trying to get them to read my favorite vertigo books back in the day.

Zero, Material, and Wild Children were all vaguely interesting concepts that just slid into the abyss of pretentious "deep" writing.

I guess that's not exactly the same as being too highbrow to be interesting, but I'd say it's an example of TRYING to be highbrow too hard, and letting your book turn to shit because of it

What if I made a 3x3 discord?

Good stuff, except I don't recognize bottom left

Normally I'd be in, but I gotta run right now

My favorite cartoons.

All of these are solid. Good taste user

>Hilda
I've never been interested in this, but what do you like about it?

What for?

I was tempted to make a chart twice as big, but here we go.

I like all of these comics. You have top tier taste

What is the upper left? Looks great

Here's my cartoon 3x3.

Thanks.
