I feel like cartoons, especially among the age groups likely to post on Zig Forums, have had a surge in popularity over the past several years.

Comics on the other hand have been waning. The Image boom has fizzled out and if you look at stuff that the big two are publishing like whatever "Joker War" is supposed to be its obvious that they're focusing on extracting more money out of existing customers than making an attempt at expanding comics readership.

Nobody is doing decent comics anymore. The last good comics were made in the 80s, maybe the 90s.

the "cartoon" aspect is the reason why we have so many fags on this board that its the gayest board on the site, even gayer then /lgbt/ is. only reason comics and cartoons are lumped together is because Zig Forums lumped anime and manga together and they have a mutual audience. comic readers and cartoon fags don't.

comic book fans might have a ton of fruitcakes among them but they'll atleast read older comic books or go "yeah, that issue of 100 bullets was rad" rather them have a near breakdown of tears when another cartoons has two chicks kissing.

No but judging by those finger joints it's probably better than if it was in the TMNT toyline
