Because they're fucking stupid. I mean they knew SuperSons was successful enough to give the comic an omnibus and statues and a shitty SuperSons YA story that no one liked because the characters were off (Damian in particular) and yet they let Bendis do what he did to Jon.

Bendis is most likely going to kill him in December's LOSH since it's his last Legion and Superman stories. It's up to the next Super writer or DC Editors to bring kid Jon back.

They barely knew him, he did shady stuff, hid a lot of things from them, rubbed them all the wrong way, and made a lot of mistakes. Of course they would be like that.

Yeah, but they're being written by old farts and is pretty transparent what they're trying to do. They've no fucking idea what to do with Wallace West so every time he's a team-book they just throw him in a romance, but that's for his benefit. Meanwhile the character he's being paired with gets her entire character development derailed. It's forced and cringe as fuck.

You see me complaining about the Teen Titans characters being friends? I'm complaining about writers pairing Wallace with Emiko in this and Raven in the previous run. Both out of left-field pairings that felt extremely forced and artificial. I'm sure that once this run is over nobody will mentioned it again and Wallace will be paired with another female character in a team-book out of nowhere as well.
