Yes, he's a writer not an artist.
Nathan Jenkins
Nope.
Cameron Turner
He's more of an idea guy
Dylan Sanders
This. Read any of Ditko's stories outside of Marvel, and they all suck because they lack Lee's input.
Samuel Smith
Stan doesn't even have the balls to outright admit ditko was a co-creator of spider-man you think that he'd dodge that if it wouldn't open floodgates for everyone else to get credit for shit he claimed was his for his entire career?
Stan was a fucking hack, a good salesman that ruined half the stories he touched. He fucking ruined a lot of F4 during the early days and wrote bullshit all over kirby pages. Nobody gives a fuck tho because 'le funny man in all the marble movies'
William Green
What the fuck are you talking about? Every Spider-Man movie or show in the last 15 years says "Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko" in the credits.

oh damn you should go harass him and see if you can get a different answer out of the guy.

Hey the Jonathan Ross interview, thanks for proving my point user.
>I'll tell everyone you're the co-creator
>I 'consider' you the co-creator
For a supposed writer he seems awfully insistent on avoiding stating the fact STEVE IS the co creator. Not considered, he IS. And Stan knew this, and he'd never restate it. If he really did he'd have amended the letter and sent it to Ditko just to get him to fucking shut up.
Parker Clark
>Ross actually pushes the question
>Lee thinks he's the sole creator because he wrote a concept
>He thinks the writing is the only thing that matters.
>Still won't say Steve IS the co creator.
I can't believe I'm saying it, but based Ross forcing that weasel to admit it on camera.

whats with peoples absolute hatred for Stan Lee? every single time hes brought up theres nothing but rage about how he was a hack or some shit like that.
Lee always cited that he was the co-creator and most of Kirby and Ditkos bellyaching should be aimed at marvel itself rather then Lee. Lee got as much royalties on his work as Ditko and Kirby did, which was none. he was a company man who didn't have such a high inflated mind of himself. whenever you'd hear Kirby talk about it, it would sound like he did everything, created every comic book character and in the most ludicrously grandious ways possible.
but, of course, because lee didnt doodle the guys he created, juat came up with their characteristics and personalities, he was a hack and stole their ideas.
Josiah Barnes
No.
Gavin Watson
>whats with peoples absolute hatred for Stan Lee?
he confused the life forces of all those young artists for what, another 5 years of life?
Dominic Hernandez
He was a hack, a crook and a terrible person.
Lincoln Gomez
Because Zig Forums is Zig Forumsntrarian.

Based for saying the truth
Gavin Gray
He created Stan Lee, innit?
Nicholas Murphy
People seem to think he's Bob Kane and that he treated Ditko and Kirby like Finger.
Jace Peterson
Stan Lee is a fucking piece of shit holy goddamn
Robert Carter
>I'm what you call an idea man
Now do all the work while I make a fortune off of it
Jace Mitchell
Define what you mean with creating. He created them but not alone.
And we dont know how mch or what part.
Kinda this. Same goes for Kirby. All his stuff he is famous for are DC or Marvel stuff!
Thomas Price
Jack Kirby has said he made Daredevil, Dr. Strange and Spider-man multiple times on different occasions and his recounting of creating characters with stan lee are so self aggrandizing that its pure fiction.
in his own words, he supposedly walked into timely comics with the fantastic four completely crafted when he walked into Martin goodmans office with a Stan Lee crying in the corner as he set up his creation saying this was going to save them from bankruptcy.
honestly, does that sound more realistic then Stan Lee saying they came up with the stuff together? furthermore, what can be gathered was Steve Ditkos biggest problem with Lee was he was changing the Objectivist viewpoint of spider-man way too much.
yeah but Stan Lee never stopped praising Kirby or Ditko when it came to their input. he always made a note saying that he had nothing to do with the silver surfer, the web shooters were all Steves Idea, and that wally wood was the one who came up with the red uniform for DD because he thought the yellow one was silly looking.
this isn't up to debate, Lee acknowledges the contribitions other men have done while those same men give Lee absolutely none.
Jacob Flores
>this isn't up to debate
I'm not disagreeing with you.
I don't think Stan was a saint that did no wrong but people for some fucking reason blow everything out of proportion and paint him as a conman that stole all the credit.
Nathan Sullivan
>showing drawings for a writer
Gee, talking about dumb baits.
Brayden Mitchell
This board is infested whit retards who loathes what's popular, how does this surprises you?
Jayden Allen
Stan isn't Bob Kane.
Hudson Long
How?
Lincoln Richardson
You can't blame him for Marvel putting him as face of Marvel Comics. Also Ditko didn't nor Kirby wanted to be that guy.
Leo Sanders
Kirby isn't any better with his claims that he created Hulk and Spiderman. And If you have read anything Kirby that isn't written by Stan it isn't very good.
Aiden Campbell
There's a reason Stan Lee has a legacy. While Ditko and Kirby's non Stan Lee works are only read for their novelty.
