That place was worse, it had 10 people and almost every thread but the Jojo one was shit.

unfortunately, this cesspool has been outclassing every forum there is since the last decade.

Forums are dead and never coming back. It really sucks, because a lot of very niche subcultures died along with them.

Yeah it sucks.

Sure, discord is better for fast discussions, it made the chat room obsolete and that’s fine, but it never should have moved into the role of Messageboards.

Discord’s are god awful for sharing of faneorks, fanart, especially fanfics, and they make it a lot harder for the long term “veteran” members to form.

Fandoms burn out the second the show ends and fade within months these days, older fandoms could soldier on for years with fanfics and stuff, some of them still are

I used to autistically post on a how to train your dragon forum and an avatar forum but they’re both gone now

That’s sorta a like it or hate it thing.

Main point is, fanworks, especially written ones, get screwed over, public RPs and round robins get screwed over, long conversations get screwed over, it’s like discord gives fandoms ADHD and so he second the show goes they go too.

Older fandoms were troopers, newer ones roll over and die when the show ends

Honestly this whole site went downhill pretty fast.

Hence why I’m here. I wanna give people fighting the good fight to preserve the forum tradition a chance for a boost, even a slight one.

We cannot allow discord to give every fandom ADHD and kill the close knit fanwork productive fandoms of the past.

The sad part is Zig Forums is probably the easiest place to get feedback on stuff quick. I've seen anons post up their projects lately and there's always an user going 'why do you post here? There's better places' but the truth is just there really isn't. Like 90% of discord servers that deal with art/animation are dead most of the time or run by small groups of people who won't give newcomers the time of day, Reddit is even worse due to the upvote system meaning your shit will get buried fast, social media is just shouting into a void hoping someone even gives a 'Nice' comment on stuff you need actual critique on. There is few fucking places on the net you can go to spread stuff about your work and get alot of eyes/responses on it at the same time.

You're already on the best place to talk about cartoons user, it's why we all force ourselves into this inhuman machination and Zig Forums as well on a daily basis. There aren't any better places on the internet because it's turned to shit, and the internet has turned to shit because the people who browse it on a daily basis are shit.
You are on one of the last bastions of freedom that will ever be presented to you in this place. Honestly, people here were beginning to go back into the real world to talk about things they liked because every shithead in the world suddenly got an internet connection, and now look where we are, not allowed to go back into the real world and stuck in this place that gets more and more newfags every day.

Good. Forums die when cliques of “power users” form and chase off all the newbies. Then it’s nothing but a slowly dwindling group jerking themselves off with inside jokes. I’ve seen it a hundred times.

Yeah, it’s sad.
We’re quickly becoming the last holdout of an unfairly quashed era.
Forums were and are better for long term discussion, better for fanworks, writing, jokes, role playing, organizing, all of they.

Sure, discord is better for memes and short convos and random shit, if it just replaced the chat room(something most forums pre 2016 had along side the main forum) I think fandoms would be far better off.

But discord got ambiguous, people wanted to march forward always, and Discord got shoved into the role, indirectly poisoning the fandom well and now they all are flash in the pan adhd hubs.

I miss forums, I pray circumstances will grant them an opening, and I hope Zig Forums can understand what a crucial holdout they are and try to prop up other forums when they can.

Yeah that’s part of the reason they died.
They aren’t perfect. Hence I mentioned it, gatekeepibg is a flaw to fix.

I say ‘part’ because several younger forums were killed when that wasn’t a problem, discord is the current force snuffing em out
