He's like the first superhero who wasn't a mary sue can do no wrong gigachad. Poor, scorned, orphan who suffered to do the right thing and was shit on FOR being a hero by those who were fearful and jealous. Spiderman is the hero we got but never deserved and he transcends race, creed, or any other metric. Probably one of the best characters comics ever made and the one everyone will always think of. Nothing against Miles as successors can be a thing but he'll always be just that a successor

I'm glad he exists because they can do young spider-man stories (oh no! I didn't study for the big exam because I was too busy fighting villain of the week! And the prom is tomorrow!) without fucking with Peter's shit (fuck you quesada) but miles is too derivative to stand on his own and truly be great. He needs more of his own shit and a definitive run by a visionary creative team.

He's as doomed as Robin is to always be in his predecessor's shadow. Peter Parker is Marvel's most successful comic character and a household name. He's as linked to Spiderman as Bruce Wane is to Batman or Clark Kent to Superman. Sure you can try and push Miles to be the "new" Spiderman but no one will ever see him as anything but a lessor copy always in Peter's shadow. The sad thing is it wouldn't even matter if they did do a good job with him since people would rather have Parker regardless.
