Will the new "back to basics" run do Tony some good? Where do you think it's headed? Will it be like Ewing was to Hulk, or Hickman to X-Men?

More importantly, what NEEDS to change in Tony's status quo or needs to be explored for future tales to come?

I don't read many Ironman comics, and I heard Slott and Bendis runs were shit. When they mean "back to basics" can't they just do the classic hero vs villain story? Arms race, evil organizations (AIM, Hydra), a wide array of unique villains that look enjoyable to fight against with complex personalities?

Currently with the new issue Tony sold his company, and his house, retiring with a fat sum of cash trying to find himself

Tony loses his company with every new run, they really need a new gimmick.

Oh, so he isn't an AI whose real body is missing? It's so hard to keep up with these things.

Spider-man and Hulk's current run has sort of restored my faith that marvel is trying to clean up their characters, so for once I think that it will be good.

Drop me a line when they finally retcon that godawful adoption shit.

I have literally never liked comic Tony. He's like the only marvel A lister I never could find a good story/run for.

Tony was always a solid b-lister, and his books reflects that.

Before his movie hit it big. After that point they elevated his exposure considerably. But they failed to ever really replicate what made the movie version endearing. And a lot of writers just seemed to hate him (making the "wrong" party in both Civil War stories, for example).

Okay, pleb.

It's a halfway decent start. I just hope they don't go too overboard on Stark being a ponce during his post-identity crisis stupor.

Oh no, he's still an AI, he just got recently got another new body after getting himself killed fighting Arno.

Ha. No. That's in the "One More Day" basket.

Wasn’t that all a simulation?

It's funny that Stan Lee wanted to make Tony Stark as someone the hippies should hate but make people like him by being charismatic. Capitalist, pro tech and innovation, went to fight commies, ect. Now all the writers are even more ideologically extreme they cannot stand it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just try to take a shit on him or just have him bend over backwards apologizing about the evils of capitalism, technology, and how socialism is the only way forward and how we need to get back to nature.

Can person named "Can't well" be good writer?

>making the "wrong" party.
>in civil war 2
>where cpt. mary sue went on a blind rampage hunting everyone appearing in a vision, minority report style
>when it has been established in the marvel universe over and over again during its entire timeline that the future can be changed
>when he had captain fucking america on his side from the beginning
>when during the short, but stupid run of that arc, pretty much everyone ended joining tony's side (except other mary sues)
>when she got banner killed, war machine killed, and tony MIA for her stupidity
>there's someone out there, that thinks that cpt. mary sue wasn't the obvious wrong side

Really liking it so far, loving Tony getting back to being more hard boiled.

>in both Civil Wars
Carol was running the fucking thought police with her own hitler youth squad to boot in CW2.
She couldn't have possibly been any more in the wrong than she was there.

Tried Kaminski’s run? Afterwards he kept getting fucked over by events. I think his elevation to A lister thanks to the movies shows how shitty most comic writers are, as they attempted to emulate RDJ’s ad-libbing but never got there, and keep trying to make their runs ‘the’ run with stupid twists and retcons. Slott even had some great material with making Tony a machine himself but managed to completely fumble it.

Tony was always basically a fantasy capitalist: he never cut corners, insisted on paying employees a fair wage, giving them rights and a good workplace, managed to ethically source his company in the USA, have a morally sound chain of supply and create jobs from manual labour to highly skilled people in loads of fields without outsourcing to countries that let you pay a very low wage.

That should be a cornerstone of Iron Man’s company, I can see him doing something like getting into the Oval Office through some emergency and balancing being el presidente with his superhero gig, even. Also, how about a team up with T’challa sometime, for some rich bastard adventures?

Won’t be back to basics because the very first issue has already introduced yet another strong female character to outshine tony, belittle him and overall rescue him all the time while he will remain a basic bitch.
The December issue already describes her as his „biggest advantage“ because apparently having a comic where a white male character isn’t shown as inferior and in need of help from women even in his own series is „sexist“ now.
Yet when male heroes show up in female lead runs the male is still written as stupid and inferior and the woman is the one who saves the day and the incompetant male.
Complete double standard.
Jus another example how liberals have ruined comics with their agenda

Zig Forumsmblr

Maybe because like the Marie sue she is because she easily beat up every guy she met and never was punished or humiliated unlike white guys

this

Retard

Less liberal agenda and more robotic execs thinking to be feminist you have to act like a cartoon man-hating feminist, never admit your lady feminist has flaws or depict men as stupid.

I’m salty because Carol and Tony had a sweet mentor/big brother relationship I really liked, considering their similar flaws of insecurity and getting complacent with their own power leading to going things alone, leading to misery and also their alcoholism.

>i hate this comic because it has women in it

Disgusting faggot.

Damn, that sounds really cool actually. I'd read this book. BP and Tony dealing with the monthly baddies, then smoking cigars in Martha's Vineyard and talking geopolitical strategy towards Krakoa, Latveria, etc. during downtime.
