Heard terrible things about it. Went in with the lowest expectations, only watching it for completion's sake.

Ended up being perhaps my favorite waning renaissance Disney movie. Yes, even more than Treasure Planet.

It cute.

Don't know why it's shit on as much as it is, it alright.

Looks beautiful and has a solid emotional core.
Could have done with less Phil Collins and less forced comedy (e.g. the moose and rams).
Sure as FUCK better than Home on the Range and Chicken Little, jesus.

someone replace that title box with "can't show that in a Christian manga!" the placement is fucking perfect

I like it. The beginning was great the middle was not that great. Koda wasnt that bad and the ending was great. Other than the phil collins song being placed too early during the confession scene it was overall pretty good.

What was up with Phil Collins anyway? They wanted to distance themselves from the traditional musical and didn’t think Tarzan and Brother Bear should have singers?

I really liked this movie as a kid, I remember rewatching it a few years ago and enjoying it too. Is it really shat on by most people? Or is this just a popular eceleb thing?

Weirdly enough, I have very similar issues with both Brave and Brother Bear. Maybe it's not that weird.

Fantastic opening, great setup for the dramatic conflict, and then it shits the bed with comedic bear shit (for, you know, the kids!). Then the ending's alright, I guess. But man, did I wish they focused more on the dramatic tension and resolution. What a fucking copout.

I was too old for it when I watched it in theaters.

Kino.
I love the animation and cool environments.
Love the brotherly dynamic between the two bears, almost kind of a father/son movie if anything.
Just a great time, definitely gets overlooked my Disney fans.

It's Renaissance era Disney. What were you expecting?

A lot of the late-era Renaissance movies just get a bad rap. Not just Brother Bear, but Atlantis, Dinosaur, Treasure Planet, and of course Home on the Range. Even Tarzan sometimes gets tied up in that group.

They're all of course not a great as peak Renaissance Disney, but they just get shat on more than is necessary, possibly just due to comparison.

Watched it as a kid and haven't seen it since but I remember enjoying it.

Come with me, I'll take you now
To a place that you fear, for no reason why
Your heart has turned away from me
And I will make you understand

Everything will become clear you
When you see things through another's eyes
Everything will become clear to you
Whatever's meant for you, you will find

Come with me, I'll take you there
To a place where you'll see
Everything you need to be the one you need to be
And all of those things that you feared
Will disappear from you in time

Everything will become clear to you
When you see things through another's eyes
Everything will become clear to you
Whatever's meant for you, you will find

I saw it when I was 6, loved it then, and still love it now.

You completely forget what the actual story is after 20 minutes and nobody on earth can tell you what the guy looked like before he turned into a bear, or why it even happened.

You're too old to be here then.

Too injun, yet not enough time as an alcohoolic and too much as a bear.

Great Disney movie, Koda is cute!

You're not wrong. You kinda forget why he's even being hunted after a while.

inoffensive movie that is fun to watch but easily forgettable.

For years and years I thought it took place in modern times on some like reservation or something. I even managed to convince myself that people drive up in trucks near the end of the movie.

I wish they kept that deleted scene of Koda first meeting Kenai where he interupts him from taking a huge shit behind a tree

That was in Open Season, user.

I would totally fuck koda up the ass

What kind of retard would choose to become a bear. He's going to get killed horribly someday.

The start of WDAS's dark age. Treasure Planet wasn't perfect, but it still had a solid script. This really didn't

It introduced me to listening to the audio commentary track on other movies which helped me understand the film industry and production and gave me an appreciation for things like lighting, color, and framing.

Terrible take. Watch Home on the Range again (you'll wish you didn't). You won't be confused about the "start" of the dark age anymore.
