DC Animated Movie Universe

Now that the dust has settled how was the DCAMU?

Each felt like a stand-alone, not a "universe". So, some were good, some were not so good.

as a whole ?
terrible

there were 2 that ware good to decent.

Edgelord garbage from start to end DC needs to stop depicting their cringe and corny characters like edgy badass

Terrible. Ugly & boring artstyle.
Before this whole shitheap started we at least had different artstyles & loose stories, which were sometimes hit or miss but at least they were interesting.

i think in hindsight they'd make a good bingewatch. This universe is probably going to be remembered more for how it ended than how it lived though.
Death of Superman Apokolips War, Hell to Pay and the Constantine movie were all good though.
Batman interestingly enough was the weak link.

watching all of them get mutilated was hard to see. Especially since they all had a shit plan. Were it up to me, I would have boomtubed their entire planet into the sun

I liked the second suicide squad movie. Get out of hell free card is a fun mcguffin, there's only so many times you can go after an experimental ultimate weapon or some kind of super secret flash drive or whatever without it getting stale.

I liked the first movie, and some of the other ones. They should have made Hal the main villian for the final movie honestly.

New 52 therefore bad

It's a miracle Barry isn't a broken husk/10
They new universe feels a lot more lighthearted and I think that's great

Barry is like the MC of a VN getting Bad End after Bad End. Should try Hal's route next time so Geoff's husbando gets more screen time and he's pleased.

there is no new universe. the dtv movies are going back to how they were where they are just standalone films.

A puerile kind of edgy, often joyless tone, animated without style, at times comically smug and preachy (Red Son was the worst offender), and simply too many compressed plot threads and characters in individual movies that they come across as chaotic and shallow. Of all the recent DC animated movies, the only ones I've truly enjoyed were Batman-related. Gotham by Gaslight was perfect, Batman Ninja was appropriately nutty and campy, and Return of the Caped Crusaders was genuinely funny. Assault on Arkham was better than Suicide Squad and had a great escalation at the end. I even enjoyed Scooby Doo and Batman TBATB.

not worth watching whatsoever
complete waste of time and money of everyone involved

The DCAU is shit. Absolute shit. Based on New 52 garbage with horrible ideas like the whole of Justice League Dark: Apokalips, the way they acted “realistic” by mentioning things like TMZ and saying “damn”, and Superman x Wonder Woman.

The only good DC animated films are as follows:

Superman vs The Elite
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Superman: Doomsday
Justice League: Crisis on two earths
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (Part 1 and 2)
Batman: Mask it the phantasm

>New Frontier not listed

TT:judas contract was fine, if very inferior to the source material.

Good with the animation.
Bad with the stories.
Dark Apocalyse is so bad it's so good I can't hate it.
All the rest is shit but Aquaman Throne of Atlantis is actually interesting, except JL jobbing to Orm and Atlanna not having reasons to not going back to Arthur.

I bet you believe in the whole "animation is only for kids and quality doesn't matter" bullshit.

>makes an entire list of mostly made for teens and adults films separating the quality from the shit
>makes a retarded statement like this

One big meh.
