The mutant orgy thing always came off as something stupid because you've a bunch of characters that have historically never gotten along and now they're all happy and fucking just because? Sure, let them build a nation and try to get along (though ideally a lot of either would be them pretending to be nice to each other) but people don't change who they are overnight. The biggest example of course is Scott and Logan accepting to share Jean just because. Or a bunch of female characters now being huge sluts that are okay with sharing the same guy.

That is just a loud minority. Most people are enjoying it and it has brought back a lot of fans. Sales show it X-men are a sales Juggernaut again it is 50% of all marvel sales
