Other than being to Mewni and some other pocket dimensions which consist of pony's place in the sky, not-Hell, the evil school, some club, and some magic walmart place, I don't think she's ever flown into deep space. Mewni certainly doesn't seem to have a space program... especially not with all the racist Mewnite Bois shooting dead future monster astronauts on the streets.
Must be another dropped plot point like the killer not-Matrix robots.

There's your answer. It just had absolutely nothing going for it. No central theme, barely any consistency, there was nothing truly weird or "alien" about it, yet they kept acting like it was part of some grand worldbuilding structure. The divide between Mewmans and monsters made absolutely no sense either, where slime creatures and buff frog were seen as monsters but Ponyhead (I fucking hate her so much) and Tom weren't because ???
Shit was just lazily written and uninteresting as a result. Reverse isekai with a magical princess attending normal school and getting into magic shenanigans with villains who try to steal her wand isn't 100% original by any means but it was a much more fun premise than whatever the series became after BfM. Seriously, try to describe post-BfM Star Vs, like you're trying to sell a pitch to someone, in one summary sentence. I can't, because it's just all over the fucking place.
