It makes sense since Thor is like THE Jack Kirby creation for Marvel and the OaL is basically Jack Kirby.

I noticed how even in the Silver Age Thor and Hulk resonated with each other. Both were the strongest at the start of the Marvel Universe with Ben also being up there. What makes Thor and Hulk unique besides being in the Avengers together is one is a god and the other a devil/demon. These are the same type of monster he would have fought on Asgard. Hulk leaving the Avengers was Thor's fault for he was the leader before Cap showed up in issue four. We get a whole recon issue to recap Thor vs Hulk. We get to see this more friendlier friendship in the MCU. Only Thing vs Hulk has been a more constant heavyweight bout in the Marvel Universe.
