Why is no modern cartoon show allowed to feature cool white male characters but instead always have to only be about mary sue female characters or blacks and emasculated/stupid comic relief male characters who get ordered around or rescued by said mary sue characters all the time?

I like Darius' and Katie's/Yasmina's outfits a lot more than what we got, especially the latter. I think Ben/Kenji originally being white isn't a big deal, but I can see why people wouldn't be enthusiastic about Xi. Sammy looks like they were going to be a totally different character.

I wouldn't expect them to show up a lot next season, unless it's to show how the families react to the kids' disappearance.

I'm bitter about Dark Crystal too but Dreamworks shows are all ordered upfront. The entire series run, however many episodes, is locked before the production cycle. As an example, Kipo's 3 seasons were made as a single 30 episode production.

I think the most nerve racking part of that scene for me was worrying about Bumpy falling off her kayak. She wasn’t at all secured, and she seems like she’d immediately sink like a stone.

They probably had to as a stopgap to take the sting out of JW being delayed again.
