Harley Quinn Show

I've been away from Zig Forums for a while, so I'm just now hearing that Harley Quinn got picked up for a third season. What are your hopes and expectations?

I just hope we are done with relationship drama. The Harley x Ivy x Kiteman love triangle ruined the second season for me.

Harley's comics are terrible though.

Honestly nothing, I’ll watch it out of Boredom and curiosity. I’m not expecting it to pick up though probably same meh middle ground humor as last time. I’ll get the occasional chuckle not that good but not that bad. I will forget about it a month after it’s over until someone mentions it like what’s happening right now.

The producers have pretty much said they're not doing more of that now that Harley and Ivy are a couple.

My gay fanfic idea would be that during the season opener Kiteman returns as a possessive/abusive ex that takes ivy hostage or something and harley has to save her. During this time Ivy tries to let kiteman down gently but it's obvious something happened after the alter and we find out Kiteman went down a spiral of girlfriends and is now to the point of being a creeper and he's kidnapped Ivy to work out what it was that made them work. Well he doesn't find out as harley comes in to save the day, during the process she knocks him into "chemicals" and he catches fire and dies. The episode ends with harley shit talking kiteman and saying he will always be a loser.

As the season progresses we learn Kiteman didn't die and he's still alive except now he has fire powers. Mainly he can now fly thanks to powers which sends him on a power trip where he gets revenge on everyone who ever wronged him. During this time he re-invents himself as this version's iteration of Firefly. This leads to the penultimate episode when he kills someone close to harley causing her to focus on him for the finale episode. They have a confrontation in which we find out that while Kiteman has completely gone insane, Harley has no idea who he is, which makes him even crazier. Only for Ivy to work out who he is because he renferences something only she would know, at which point she feels responsible for his condition. She then choose him over Harley, which causes harley to freak and try to kill him again only for during the process, Ivy ends up being killed by both of them. With Ivy dead Firefly vows to harley that he will make her burn eternal for what she has done, and disappears, leaving harley to grieve on the rooftop as the episode fades out...

Harley and Ivy struggle to find boundaries to their relationship, leading to Ivy being worried that it won't last
Kiteman goes through a depression stage, screws up while flying, lands on some cops chasing Killer Frost, they start dating
Conflict arises between ex's, Ivy hates Frost and vice versa, but they get along after agreeing how lame and charming Kiteman is
Big Bad for season 3 is Brainiac who recruits Harley cause she wants to make the world a better place for Ivy with no distractions or some shit

Why doesn't this show lean into sexuality as much as it does swearing and violence?

I understand that it doesn't want to be coombait for CGers but surely if any cape media currently being put out has a platform to explore a more mature, "feminist" version of sex, it's this one. They've got the ear of lesbian shippers, they've spent time establishing their characters beyond T&A, they clearly want to be a grown-up version of this world. Is it just American puritanism and general "sex is icky" hangups that's holding it back?
