I think RWBY attracts a unique type of autism that completely lacks self-awareness. And I never watched Red vs Blue though I understand it's been very influential throughout the space of derived works.

While the whole issue with Vic sucks, I can’t really blame them for cutting ties with Vic. Working with him would have been a liability while the rumors where being investigated. It was still shitty of them to fire him they should have just taken some distance while the accusations where going on.
