She let Maggie watch she show. She let Maggie get hold of a mallet.

>starting a moral crusade because an infant can't tell the difference between cartoons and reality
Yes.

lol no, there is a reason tv and cellphones are no replacement for parenting

TAKE THAT YA DUMB SQUIRREL

She was but she eventually went back on it because of the Michelangelo's David coming to Springfield and her supporters wanted her to protest it even though she thought it was a good piece of art that didn't need censorship. She eventually realized the error of her ways. It kinda did some good though because the kids found the show boring after the censorship so they went outside to play and be active. Kinda of a double edge sword.

It was a satire about moral crusaders in the 80s-early 90s who were complaining about video games and heavy metal. Only back then the entertainment industry just laughed it off instead of bowing to a couple of dye-haired roasties on Twitter.

Maggie really did hit Homer because of Itchy & Scratchy but Marge's changes ruined the show, but the kids were fine, but Marge turned out to be a hypocrite about censorship, but that resulted in the kids returning to how they were before.

It's actually a complex episode. Compare to the millions of "Lisa is exactly right!" episodes.

No, I mean, why do they allow violent and gory cartoons to be shown to children?

Partly in reference to Tom and Jerry, partly because Groening’s really into it.

>Lisa is exactly right!

Is Lisa the skeptic one of these because the moer i look at it I side with her this time

>DVD commentary
>Al Jean: And the best part is, we didn't have to pay Beethoven any royalties.
lal

Marge is ALWAYS wrong. i've recently watched every episode of the simpsons and marge's thing for the first 20 seasons is

>Show or thing people enjoy
>Marge does not enjoy it
>It must be removed from existence so that NO ONE enjoys it.

reminds me of my mom. We truely live in a society.

This

Why Americans are such a pussies?

As user said it's a satire of moral crusaders. American and British culture has a long-established tendency of cancel culture (yes it didn't begin this past decade) where anything that rustles one's personal Jimmies should be shut down.

I don’t really know, the whole message felt confused. Probably my least favorite episode from golden age Simpsons

Do you have that onions la comadreja clip?

Did the people behind the show cover the hospital expenses? And IIRC Homer was traumatized by it. I'd definitely be pissed if there was a direct correlation between the show and what happened.

Lisa's whole thing is that the writers make her the annoying voice of reason. Sometimes it's justified for her to do that and is needed. Other times she is made to be the other side of the argument simply because they need someone other than marge to go against Homer and Bart's antics.

No, and it was uncharacteristically stupid of her to do this. This whole episode was dumb, actually. It's like the writers for this episode were still salty about parent's groups from the 70s turning all the cartoons from that time period milquetoast.

Since around the 30s or 40s Americans have increasingly embraced the belief that life on this earth is wretched and that one must enjoy a childhood free of pains, hardship and horrors for as long as possible before plunging into a harsh adult life. They believe children exist in a state of heavenly purity devoid of earthly sins and thus tainting childhood is the worst of transgressions.

They would rather form their society, laws, customs and media around this overbearing, extreme protection of the youth than make adult life better, partly because of an unspoken cynicism towards their ability to truly improve society and partly due to the inadequacy to properly raise and prepare their children for the world which they themselves feel is meaningless and drudging. This trend has expanded outwardly towards the rest of the world, in a misguided effort to rid mortal life from all it's negative facets, only stopping at denying death.

Maybe don’t use one of the gayest anime’s as an example. Those guys are pretty much male sailor scouts.

That sign is leftist meme tier

S

literally what? that belief started with neurotic middle class Victorians.

>It's like the writers for this episode were still salty about parent's groups from the 70s turning all the cartoons from that time period milquetoast

Well, 80s.

More like the sailor scouts are pretty much female saints. Also gay men can be manly as fuck. See the Spartans and the samurais

So...women, got it.

No, just a specific kind of woman.

What kind of woman?
