It doesn't. I have no idea what they're thinking, I didn't give a shit about Gotham and I'm sure as fuck not watching any prequel to that.

It's really just a thriller with a Batman skin. The characters could have been anyone and the writing would've worked, but obviously having the skin helps with exposure to wider audiences, and it probably would've been harder to pitch a show about British dudes in a spy thriller against anarchists and Illuminati and the main character gets to pork the queen

This is what i dont understand. Frankly that sounds really fun and watchable, but apparently were not allowed to have fun things without capeshit slapped on.

The executive suits call the shots and they have no intention nor incentive to try new things when old things clearly make a lot of money. Just look at every other entertainment medium and you see the same problem

Season one was surprisingly fun so I'm looking forward to this. I wonder if we'll see Gotham this season.

This year I'm on a 'no reboots, no remakes, no franchise' sort of thing. The only exception is animation since i work in a field that requires me to watch a lot of it. Definitely not going to be watching this, it just makes me sad.
