I've been watching this show for the first time (it never really became popular in Yurop)

Right now I'm at the end of season 3. I don't have the intention to watch everything. When is the best moment to stop? I assume this show will drop in quality at some point.

Nah, it's solid throughout. The argument could only be made for the final 5 episodes maybe.

It really doesn't drop in quality

I'd argue the introduction of Lucky as a main character is a tipping point in quality, but not by much.

It never really gets outright BAD outside of one or two episodes. Skip Hank's Bully.

Honestly, quality drops after season 2 and season 3 slightly. It's still an alright show through its entire run, but it takes a hit with both those season finales.

God I want to fuck Luanne.

Sounds like someone can't handle the banter.

Season 3 is peak but they're all great.

I GUARANTEE this gave him a fetish later in life.

It kind of depends. Some of the characters get flanderized around S6-7, but they're still tolerable and I think the show is pretty comfy well into final season. Maybe watch one of the last seasons and see if you like it.

The quality dips, but never an episode below decent. Never. an episode. below decent. That's it's key selling point.

Dusty old bones, full of green dust

The tone definitely changes after season 6. 7 was the start of the show's constant parade of guest star voices that. It was a great period of hit and miss. Many of the later episodes have a charm to them, but the wit gets a little stale- in fact I think many of the later episodes from the last few seasons attempted to slip in ways to educate the audience about general stuff like home repair and parenting.

Literally the point where the show switches to digital animation. The episode where John Redcorn opens a casino was emblematic of how everyone turned into pieces of shit later on and how the writing became specifically geared to fuck over Hank.

This. A lot of people in the thread are saying it never gets bad and that's only somewhat true. The HD seasons rely on the characters making appreciably worse decisions and Hank stops being an uptight weirdo upset about harmless stuff, to the only sane man in a world full of terrible assholes. It never becomes unwatchably bad like Family Guy or the Simpson's but there's a notable drop in writing quality in the final seasons

I'd argue that, by that point, Hank has learned to lighten up about some stuff. Everyone undergoes character growth in the series and that's Hank's.

The episode where everyone thinks Hank is rich and constantly begs him for money is fucking disgusting and the only saving grace in it is Hank treating the family finances like they were nuclear launch codes.

it never gets too too awful. honestly i'd say finish it to the end.

"Après Hank, le Deluge" is another pretty bad episode.

Of the episodes I can't stand to watch, it's this one, "I'm with Cupid", and "Goodbye, Normal Jeans". Also the episode with the Canadians.

this is exactly what I mean, Hank does exactly the right thing and he's treated like an asshole for it. The whole last third of the run is like this

Fetish for what? Young, healthy women with nice breasts? What a fetish. What a kink!

the canadian episode is 100% right

Incest, user. Seeing your cousin naked during puberty would probably kickstart an incest fetish. It did for me.

is king of the hill the most well rounded show? I can't think of any other show that doesn't have at least one whole hit or miss season. maybe venture bros?

There are bad episodes here and there, but by and large I'm having a hard time thinking of another show that maintained it's quality for as long as KotH did. Seasons at their worst are still worth a watch, where many shows can go to shit only in their second/third sessions.

>venture bros?
That fell off fairly hard for me at season 3 and later when its became nonstop lore wanking but does nothing with it. Many characters became worse after they attempted to give them a back story when it wasn't necessary.

Nothing wrong with marrying your first cousin, that isn't incest
