Portland, Oregon suburb studio progressive, news at eleven.

That guy was a true Chad.

i think this was the only way to appeal to both crowds. would you rather him making out with his bf onscreen?

This was to introduce kids to the concept of homosexuality

It was a punchline to running gag.

Plot twist, he is also a trans man.

He must've been taking some serious T then.

Alpha Chad. So Alpha his brain chemistry responded by removing any chance of Thot simping by eliminating all desire for dirty hos.

Imagine if he was into femboy traps though? Like maybe one that looks exactly like her?

Looking back, this movie kinda sucked. Big missed opportunity

This movie had weird character designs

So alpha he turned gay

Him being gay wasn't Laika taking some progressive stand for representation, it was just a last-minute comedic twist that the guy the thirsty girl has been drooling over turns out to be unavailable. It's not "representation" any more than the end of Some Like It Hot.

Their next movie was full of trans panic, they're hardly super-woke.

>Their next movie was full of trans panic
I don’t remember boxtrolls all that well but, really?

I thought it was pretty funny

This is how you do it properly though, if you have to have it at all. Don't make it a huge deal, minor at best, and only bring it up when it works as a joke.

Real alphas prove they're on top by fucking other men into submission.

How did they translate that scene in countries like China and Russia.

yeah the villain has this whole subplot where he dresses in drag and seduces people

In a blunt sense, it is representation, just not the force-fed bullshit kind that's been cropping up over the recent years where it's got to be broadcasted in every scene with "Hey, this character's gay? Did you know that? Did you know being gay is totes cool? Maybe you're gay, ever think of that?"
It was able to be a punchline for a brick joke, but still do it in a way that can't be hated by progressives or anti-progressives. It's just there, and that's that.

Naw this joke was earned, yall are reading too deep into it.

>it’s good representation because I don’t have to think about the fact that he’s gay until the very last second, I’d prefer to not think about it at all though
This board would consider characters like Wallace or Shore Leave to be agenda pushing bullshit if they didn’t like venture bros and Scott pilgrim

Even if that were true, which it isn't, would that really be a bad thing given the way the movie handled it?

The villain was a cross dresser specifically to boost his cred as an exterminator, but I don’t remember any “trans panic”?

No, people like Shore Leave because he's well-written and more than just "gay Shipwreck".

Crossdressing and Transgenderism are different. That's not trans panic.

more like serious D

>Stereotipical characters with zero likeability
>Unfunny jokes
>No tension due to the zombies never harming anyone
>Unpleasant tone
>Ugly character designs
>Pretty boring
Why do people praise this movie again ? Huge step backwards from Coraline in every way ( especially the soundtrack )

Literally the same phrase about his boyfriend in Russian. Stop believing the nu-Cold War propaganda and check shit yourself

Sounds like a whole lot of opinion. Plus, it did have some interesting twists like the zombies not being a threat, just trying to warn people about the threat that was posed by the witch.

I've been on T since my teens and I'm 6'1" with massive shoulders. I'm also fat, tho, sooo......
