Huh, I thought it looked like a rubbish American-imported girl's magazine from the last two decades. Though I guess there's not much difference.
I never really understood the kiddy style and the emphasis on shiny eyes that look like there's a hole cut out of the pupil or iris. He even has weird buck teeth.

The CGI series, according to fans at least, got better as it continued, both physically and in writing. Then the international rebrand happened.

I'm pretty sure that's Daisy. The grey face thing was made consistent with every other train in the show, though.
