the whole "Grim and Mandy Get Married" thing never really worked for me anyways, so I'd definitely be more in favor of something like this

The whole marriage thing didn't really matter to me since it didn't matter all that much in-universe besides setting up Mandy as a mom. Hell, she basically cheats on Grim all the time, here it would more of that but with the one guy who she legit might actually like.

honestly there's not a lot about the Grim Tales version of Mandy I like, I despise her design for one thing, like the only reason one can know it's Mandy at a first glance is because the comic tells you it's her, no resemblance otherwise

but then I'm more in favor of taking the core premise of Grim Tales(Mandy's kids getting into supernatural misadventures of their own) and rebuilding it from the ground up to be something much more interesting and less depressing/edgy than what Bleedman actually ended up making

You mentioned reduction of the crossovers, would keeping only the Hell/Supernatural ones work here?
Like for example Mandy could still rule over her Hell, this time without needing marriage to Grim. She has her kids, thought their Dad is {redacted}, and Grim is still her slave.
Billy is off doing his God King warlord things across the galaxy.
Then you have the other hells trying to take over her Hell so she calls in all her "favors" to assemble forces to kick the shit out of them so she can ruler over all of them.
Enter Mini-Mandy and Grim Jr(Pending) going out to find Billy, since he's about the strongest person Mandy knows, but she doesn't have the time to go looking through space to find him, so she sends them instead.

honestly I was kinda thinking of ditching the whole "Mandy Queen of Hell" thing, indeed basically the only thing I was thinking to keep from the original concept is that it's set in the future and that the main characters are Mandy's kids and them getting into supernatural misadventures, otherwise we'd be starting from scratch
