Yes.
Yes, Pastmaster was the best villain IMO.
From the Swat Kats Kickstarter:
Dear Fans,
It has been a long time coming to provide an update on Swat-Kats Revolution, we sincerely apologize. I hope this update will bring you comfort that the efforts to bring back SK is very much alive and we are actively pushing to make it happen.
Swat-Kats is a very personal project for us, that why we care so much about it. It's the first property that we created that got into production, and we own a set of rights that allows us to produce new content, such as the new TV series. For us the challenge is not IF a new series will be produced, but WHEN will it be done.
Producing quality broadcast television is an extremely difficult endeavor. We know because we have done it many times. But today probably even more so, since the need for content is so important that broadcasters or any streaming platforms in the world are flooded with producers, production companies, distributors, rights owners, etc. from all over the world to make it into production. And that overflow and cluttered of second-tier quality television series (for the most part) doesn't make it easy. There is also the business end of it; some studios or larger groups have output deals with broadcasters/streamers, that limit the opportunity for smaller producers to get their series into the pipeline because there are still limits to the number of new shows broadcasters or streamers can greenlight. Also, one of the biggest hurdles is the ability to fund a television show as several millions of dollars are necessary for financing a tv series. Furthermore, the business deal needs to make sense with the parties involved, and these can get complicated.
With all the above said, I can relate to producers getting their award, Emmy, Oscar, etc, and telling everyone how their project took 5 years, 10 years, 15 years or more to realization. I think the producers of the Bohemian Rapsody movie took them 10 years to make it happen, and it was Queen, one of the biggest rock bands in history!
We are approaching SK Revolution with a very business-minded strategy: Get the right partners on board, launch a new television series and build a franchise based on the rights that we own. We are convinced we can do something along the line of Deadpool, or Iron Man. But in order to do this, we need to have everything properly in place, and that takes time. We surely hope we could have made it happen sooner.
So, yes, the last few years have been frustrating for us, and we understand for you as well, in regards to SK, not everyone is enthusiastic about it as we are, we can understand that. Some oversea potential partners/investors even told us SK is too old a brand, too risky they said!!
So we encountered roadblocks after roadblocks: Hulu passed, Netflix passed, Warner Bros passed. Amazon was not really the place for it and changed its animated content approach. A fairly important movie producer wanted to bring Swat-Kats to Netflix, where he has an output deal, but ultimately, the deal did not make sense for us. I can't count the number of potential business investors we met, trips we did, meetings we held. There have been many opportunities we believed were very promising (with some very important mini Major studios, among others), and we hold on to those opportunities to bring some good news, only to fall apart. Some additional difficulties were unexpected, such as the movie CATS! (Anthropomorphic cats), and a major box office disaster, ridiculed by everyone, let's just say that we had to let the dust clear on this one before we could even approach anyone in the industry, so they could not make any types of similarities between the two properties...this is a Hollywood mindset; when something bombs at the box office it becomes radioactive. If the movie would have been a big success, Hollywood would have put any anthropomorphic movies or tv series into production...SK would have been on the frontline.
I'm not bringing any of this as any kind of excuse, but I wanted to explain the complexities of the entertainment industry, I hope this help to understand a bit more.
Nonethelsess, we have made positive moves forward. Even if the streamers passed, we can always come back, executives change all the time, and one of them may remember SK, be a fan, and may want to be part of bringing it back. We have created a Five-Part mini-series, as a potential strategy to launch the series, along with a movie treatment including visual development (that I would like to share in the future) as the ongoing discussions are underway. We are currently working with some power hitters in Hollywood that would bring a lot of weight to SK, and negotiating business deals that can be very beneficial as well. We are pushing with HBO Max, as I believe it would be the perfect project for them since they are part of Warner Bros. Before the Covid19, Cartoon Network was tracking SK, so that is a possibility as well.
We are more motivated than ever before. We have seen and encountered roadblocks in the past but we are resilient. It's not the 100's of NO that count, its the one Yes that allows everything to fall into place. We will make SK happen, no matter how hard or how long it takes.
We sincerely appreciate the support.
Kind regards,
Christian
yeah
as good as an action cartoon could get in 90's TV
S2 > S1
Why did you like S2 better than S1?
It was radical
not him but one thing that objectively sucks about S1 is that in many shots the turbokat has this huge ass plume of smoke trailing out of it. looks dumb.
Best episode?
For me it's The deadly pyramid with Mutation city as a close second.
Damn straight it was. It's a shame they cancelled it way too early out of fear it would generate some big controversy, then replaced it with something a lot more milquetoast. Or, relatively more milquetoast. I remember Captain Planet had a few fairly risky episodes.
S2 had a much bigger budget if I remember correctly, so more freedom for prettier visuals and consistently fluid animation. S1 doesn't look bad by a longshot, though. The second season's just a noticeable upgrade from the first.
I get a kick out of every episode with the Metallikats in it, but Mutation City is probably the highlight of the series.
the one with Turmoil. her air carrier and jets kicked ass. she needed to be a regular enemy of mega city kind of like don carnage was.
Got a MEGA link for the whole series? I want to watch it soon when im on the road.
It was fun but not very engaging.
It's hard to get invested in a toyetic action cartoon that doesn't have an interesting main antagonist.
>It's not the 100's of NO that count, its the one Yes that allows everything to fall into place.
You hear loads of long lectures about how to make it in the animation industry (or any industry, really), but this type of simple advice is still the best you can get. Going on with your idea even after it gets rejected, maybe tweaking it a bit or trying again at a later date, the "right" date, so to speak. You really haven't failed until you've stopped trying, and all this trying finally got them to a good spot with Revolution. Kudos to them.
Like Mortal Kombat is for Fighting Games
>The golden rule is that if the only discussion a show gets is masturbating around to the female characters?
Nigger I don't masturbate to Callie. To be honest, I find her voice unappealing and she's a basic furry bitch that just doesn't do it for me.
And I still fucking love Swat Kats. It's Starfox-style action fun and the kitschy pun-filled oneliners just add to its charm.
I will give you that the two-man dynamic constricted a lot of character building for the show, and if at all possible it would be nice for Revolution to fix that. But to be honest, when I just want to veg out to some sick-ass jet combat against giant robots or evil mutant insects, Swat Kats is entertaining as all get out.
It's all dependent on what you want out of your action cartoons, I guess.
Can somebody lend a nigga a MEGA?
>But both main leads in Swat Kats were forgettable.
And that was right fucking strange. Callie had a defined personality. Feral doesn't get much discussion either, but being the ex-boss of Razor and T-Bone made his sometimes enemy, sometimes ally dynamic with them a lot more interesting.
Boring's not the right word, their dialogue's anything but, but T-Bone and Razor don't have much to define their character. I'm not expecting 2deep4u therapy sessions, I'm thinking more along the lines of how TMNT ended up differentiating the turtles from each other in terms of personality, even combat style.
Seconding.
OOOOOOOHHHHHHH ______ _____!
Season 2 animation quality was 90s anime ova tier. It blew all out cartoon shows on the air out of the water. Also, S2 intro theme > S1 intro theme.
Just compare the much more dynamic camera movement and angles and lighting from youtu.be

>serial deleter strikes again
You make relevant points, why do you do this to yourself?
Are you part of the Revolution team in some way and trying to cover your tracks?
Isn't it just the mods deleting whatever they don't like?
No way, that never happens.
They should have nuked all (you)s agreeing with his post too
Mega link, Please!
Fucking Canadian work ethic!
That drug episode when the crack heads were willing to walk through fire for more drugs was pretty intense.
