THE BOYS Season 3 Information Round-Up

>Season 3 centers on Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), the world’s first superhero. Created by Dr. Frederick Vought in the 1940’s, he was a global celebrity and power player at Vought International before his apparent death in the 1980's. The Boys find out that he is alive and set out to uncover his secret.

>Showrunner Eric Kripke described Soldier Boy as "Homelander before Homelander". "He's from a different era", said Kripke "but he's got the ego and the ambition — it just comes across in a different way because he's from a different time."

>Season 3 also introduces Payback, Vought’s first superhero team led by Soldier Boy. Kripke described them as “the Seven before the Seven” and alluded how they influenced the world. "Through the history of the Supes, we can tell a little bit about the history of America and how we ended up in the current fraught position that we're in."

>Season 3 will explore Vought’s origins. “Soldier Boy’s been around since WWII”, said Kripke, “he’s a mainstay of Vought and so through him, we get to see Vought through the decades."

>Kripke further elaborated on season 3's themes. "Certain politicians pitch an idyllic 'good old days' where everything was perfect and calm. It was never that way. So, by exploring the history of Vought in the history of America, we get to make some of those points. There was never an America when they say 'Make America Great Again.' It was always a struggle. That's the point. It's a struggle to make things better."

>Homelander will be a “homicidal maniac” in season 3, according to Antony Starr, while Kripke described him as a “time bomb about to explode” and noted that everyone – The Boys, the Seven and even Vought – are making preparations for when he inevitably snaps.

>Homelander will be intimidated by Soldier Boy, who rivals him in power, but has been around for longer and is more famous and beloved by the public.

>Butcher will continue to watch over Ryan, and struggle with his conflicting paternal feelings for the boy and his resentment of him due to Becca’s death and being Homelander’s son.

>Hughie will have been estranged from the Boys due to his affiliation with Victoria Neuman and face trouble once he figures out the truth about her. She is connected to Vought, but pursuing her own agenda.

>The Boys will have a new base of operations at the Flatiron Building in New York City, where they have been compiling evidence against several Supes, unaware that this is part of Neuman’s agenda.

>Kimiko will reveal new facets of her personality, such as her love for Hollywood musicals.

>Starlight will face new challenges as Vought pushes her further into the limelight and attempts to profit off her relationship with Hughie.

>Black Noir is alive and will be back at the team. Kripke confirmed that more will be revealed about his past, "maybe even what he looks like under the mask".

>Stormfront is mutilated, but alive, and may return. Kripke and the writers felt fitting that a character so enamored with her own superiority would end up a "mutilated stub" that needs 24/7 help to stay alive.

>Love Sausage, Teddy Stillwell, Ashley Barrett, Cherie and Cindy will all return.

>Casting is underway for Supersonic, Starlight’s ex-boyfriend who returns to her life and strains her relationship with Hughie. He is a missionary working with Vought on a humanitarian drive, and shares Starlight's ideals about heroism. He will appear in four episodes.

>Jeffrey Dean Morgan is reportedly being eyed for Payback member Tek Knight, but Morgan's commitments to "The Walking Dead" might prevent him from joining.

>Season 3 will include the “Herogasm” storyline, where the Boys must infiltrate a Vought-sponsored corporate retreat for Supes where they engage in a weekend-long drug-fueled orgy.

>Kripke's plan remains to end the show after five seasons.

>The Boys
>Team up with Vought and the Seven
Fuck me in the ass

glad I dropped this like a hot potato

It doesn't mean they'll team up, just that Vought knows Homelander will go nuclear sooner or later and is already preparing contingencies to stop him.

>three more seasons of this
Huh. I really thought it would have stopped by season 3.
Hopefully they're able to make it consistently decent and not fuck up last minute
like certain other show based off a book series that deconstructed a fantasy genre

>>Homelander will be intimidated by Soldier Boy, who rivals him in power, but has been around for longer and is more famous and beloved by the public.

Is that going to be the hook of every new season? They did the same thing with Stormfront in season 2.

>Kripke's plan remains to end the show after five seasons.
Yeah five seasons is a good number to end the show on. No reason for it to be dragged out like other shows based on comics especially since this one already has a conclusion.

Hopefully this season feels more focused. 1 had a solid arc and direction, while season 2 kinda meandered all over the place

>Homelander
>intimidated by Soldier Boy
>rivals him in power
That's dumb. Why not just have him as a pathetic crazy super soldier who gets in the way of everything? And maybe towards the end of the season, Butcher can kill him off?

>Kripke further elaborated on season 3's themes. "Certain politicians pitch an idyllic 'good old days' where everything was perfect and calm. It was never that way. So, by exploring the history of Vought in the history of America, we get to make some of those points. There was never an America when they say 'Make America Great Again.' It was always a struggle. That's the point. It's a struggle to make things better."
Fuck off. This is going to be so lame.

So, it's seems that they are doing one main villain per season which is really a shame.

Season 2 felt more busy with using The Seven and Stormfront as Orange Man Bad that telling a compelling story about The Boys themselves.

Ackles is part of the main cast, so Soldier Boy will stick around.

>Stormfront as Orange Man Bad
she was a literal, historical, capital N, worked with and idolized the big man hitler himself, NAZI. if portraying a for-real NAZI as a horrible person pisses you off because you immediately associate them with orange man then maybe that says something about orange man??

Look, I'm not a MIGAtard, I'm not even American and for me it was clear that she was used to represent the (american) right, her speeches about immigrants mirror those of Trump 4 years ago, Fat Neal being Zig Forums made it more obvious.

I also have problems with "girls get it done" and the Boys doing nothing the entire season.

wait, the professor who created the superhumans is called "Vought" in the TV show?
Didn't he have a different name in the comic? Or is this a different guy?

Attached: Grimplexed.jpg (114x101, 5.38K)

in the show Vought is named after its founder. but the guy who created compound V for the nazis and later for Vought is still fella named Vogelbaum

The decision for the Boys not to have any powers makes them completely useless and I can't understand why they did it

Now in every action scene they need Kimiko to bail them out or they just stand there looking like fucking idiots while someone else deals with the problem

>all of this information
The ride never ends in liberal dicksuck land, does it?

They're saving it for the final season.

big if true!

>>Homelander will be intimidated by Soldier Boy, who rivals him in power
That's bullshit.

You know the Captain America but racist would be welcome if we didnt have already a racist superhero last season. So its not a new concept and is more a repeat of what we had before.

I disagree, I think keeping them powerless is a decent change. It means they necessarily have to be more creative when confronting supes and can't just slug it out.

The problem is that they never confront supes. The show usually relies on plain blackmail more often than not, which means that powers almost never even come into play.

In the comic, Dr. Vogelbaum(a jewish man) created Compound V and the supes. In the show, it was a guy called Vought(a nazi) while Vogelbaum just created and raised Homelander.

I remember two instances of them getting creative just to fail and getting rescue by a female supes.

>The show usually relies on plain blackmail more often than not
That's how the comic started, really. They didn't get into brawls unless absolutely necessary

>hey homelander? Is this considered gay?

But in the end, they just use other supes to stop the other supes. Its time to power them up by using mother's milk

>Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), the world’s first superhero. Created by Dr. Frederick Vought in the 1940’s
>world's first superhero
So what the fuck was Stormfront telling Homelander/the audience to their face that her husband "gave her the first successful V injection" for?

Holy God. I feel like vomiting.

Also, America was great. Before Roe vs Wade.

Britain was also great before abortion. The world is better without abortion. Killing babies is regress.

Fuuuuark ooooooooof

First injection doesn't mean first superhero

>Homelander will be intimidated by Soldier Boy, who rivals him in power

Well that's dumb

We're still getting a spin off, and the comic started back up as dear becky

well said

Unequivocally based, killing for convenience is morally and ethically wrong.

First super to the public eye

Killing for convenience is literally what every country across the entire span of modern human history has done
