Ultimate Spider-Man

Who had the brilliant idea to make the show like this?

Me

FPBP!

Bendis, Quesada, and Loeb were all executive producers for the show.

Look, I honestly don't know at this point because I seem to have skipped the last decade of animated spidey, but it ultimate the one with dumb Pete and smart white tiger (ft. Powerman and Iron Fist) or is it another one?

i liked how stupid and lolsorandumb the humor got in that show
probably my favorite marvel cartoon just because of that

It's that one. The other one lacks the shitty humor but has a grosser art style.

Okay, then I will chip in on the topic
They wanted to boost other character's popularity by using Spidey.
Problem was that they shit all over Pete to make other character's traits appear stronger / give them a reason to be around (Pete was a moron whenever White Tiger had to be smart. This issue of dumb people trying to write someone smart is they can only do smart-by-contrast)
Unfortunately Spidey may be doomed to being an escalator's for other's fame. So instead of a show about Pete being Pete and doing Pete things, we'll get team ups and 'spider-family' (but not Ben, Kaine, and Mayday) nonsense instead.
I very much hope to be wrong because I like Spidey and would like to have another Spectacular Spider-man tier show to look forward to instead of Spidey-and-friends V3

Now that Jeph "kids can't follow storylines" Loeb is off of Marvel Animation, there is hope. Hopefully they'll also get better editors for the animatics. The storyboard artists on Marvel cartoons hate the freelance timers fucking up the pacing of their storyboards.

Reminder that Bendis said this show would be Arrested Development meets 30 Rock

It's not just "Peter dumb, White Tiger smart", but everyone was such an asshole to Peter, but Peter was also obnoxious as shit. Then when they have their "We're family" moment, it feels so forced. They never gave a shit about each other then.

>Now that Jeph "kids can't follow storylines" Loeb is off of Marvel Animation,

He's been off of Marvel Animation since like Season 3 of Ultimate Spider-Man; Wacker's the one who's been overseeing the cartoons since.

Wacker hasn't made their animation department any better, and he's been in charge for like 4 or 5 years

the only thing I liked about this show was the Agent Venom stuff

Greg Weisman.

Like most people turns out he is overhyped and only had one hit during the 90s.

Wacker left quite recently. I think before the 2017 Spider-Man cartoon.

I think you got him mixed up with Paul Dini.

Weisman didn't work on Ultimate, what are you talking about?

¡DiDios Mios! ¡La impuro trinidad del escritorzuelos!

Imagine defending a pedophile like John K and enjoying samey, passionless Steven Universe clone cartoons, but hating something that at least had people who were fans of the material who worked on it.

It's not totally accurate, but it was better than what people gave it credit for.

Seen cringier faces in Rick & Morty. So what?

Take your meds.

It felt more like it was trying to be Family Guy than Spider-Man

>Thinking the people who hate the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon are the same person as that insistent John K defender

That's some schizo thinking

This show would've benefited from having more elements from the actual Ultimate Universe.

Reminder that the Spider-Man from Ultimate Spider-Man was in Spiderverse

It will likely be 10 times worse.
People's borderline irrational hate for Loeb is pretty weird

The screeching monkey sounds were annoying, man was this cartoon obnoxious.

Jeph has rained hell on a lot of things people loved, and Marvel let him get away with it
