I really liked Monster's University. Great prequel.

The endless fraternity bullshit jokes are so boring. Monsters Inc simply has better environmental art and worldbuilding.

I mean, you're wrong on every goddamn level that could ever be.

-No direct plot, it goes all over the place.
-Characters are boring basic versions of themselves.
-The conflict is "college" drama, no real interest
-Ending means the whole movie was utterly pointless
-Jokes are boring, or just sad.

But it's your opinion I guess.

Fucking retard

I loved Monsters University in high school. Watching it during my fifth year of college made me realize it’s nothing but tired tropes and frat jokes. Where were the scenes with characters breaking into abandoned psych wards and doing molly? That’s the real college experience.

It was a fun movie, but it’s got that glaring plothole.

What are you referring too?

Monsters Inc has a line saying Mike and Sully have been friends since grade school

retcon of a throwaway line =/= a plot hole
of all the things you could critique, you chose this? seriously?

I’m not the same user, I’m just adding to what they said. I agree with you. The line shouldn’t hinder the creative team from making a college based movie and can be taken as a hyperbole of how long they’ve known each other.

There’s no reason it should have been an issue. They could have made the movie with original characters. Being unable to work around a throw away line is lazy and uncreative.

where was the scene of drinking monster popping adderall and jerking off for 16 hours because your roommates left for the weekend and you can watch porn freely for the first time in 3 months.

>when was wanting to kill yourself because no gf.

Monsters Inc was a better movie but Mike and Sully had better character arcs in MU.

Mike was also a better protagonist than Sully.

How do you guys feel about Monsters University ocs?
I started a comic about her and she's not even my character

Monsters Inc. is better than Monsters University.
Yeah, I said it.

It's really good, so this is a valid opinion.

good.

She doesn't look like a Monsters Inc character

But user, she's wearing the shirt!

Good note, good note.

>Toy Story 3, Brave, Monsters University and Inside Out
Cars 2 aside, Pixar was doing great in the early 2010s. It's only after 2015 when things start to go downhill imo. Maybe that dinosaur film bombing had something to do with it

Only teenage tumblrinas cared about this medriocre film because they wanted to fuck the lizard.

>Ending means the whole movie was utterly pointless
Imagine being this stupid.

Monsters University is a movie built around a denouement. It's a good ending for sure, but ideas and creativity were sparse for the larger middle chunk of the film, which is why it was reduced to a generic parody of frat movies for most of its running time. For all of the positive sentiments it generates, this was a movie without a concept.

I actually remember being into it when it came out. I didn't find out about it's bad reception until years later. I also remember Spill.com's review being kind of positive.

give me link (to comic) plz

I don't feel like they could've done better but they should've. Good prequel.

*couldn't but should've
I feel like Randall shouldn't have been there as well. I don't how to make it better but I still enjoy watching it.

Easily the most underrated Pixar film. Too many faggots write it off because of the tacky premise and overlook how legitimately good the final act was.

It's a fun family movie with a great message, and the final 25 mins are top tier Pixar
