I'd love to know, I think Owl House is boring and terrible and you would have figured the shit shows of GF & SU would have lead to most poeple dropping the show. No, there are 5 Owl House threads up at a time, and the only thing I can gleam about them is how much the anons want to fuck Luz and/or Amity.

It's largely random, the username of this board is more varied than the screeching autist make it seem. Anons mostly stay in threads of media that interests them, and these individuals all have different tastes. However a vocal group of autistic retards visit every thread, and create threads about anything that makes a viable attack target. That which makes viable targets for these people is largely based on social politics because it's suitably low effort, doesn't require any specific knowledge of the media, the arguments can be learned and applied broadly, the same arguments can be had regardless of the specific show or context.

I hardly remember Gravity Falls being as hated as Steven Universe.

My thought is that Owl House is a massive depository of wasted potential. Dana Terence clearly grew up with the same weeb shit that we did, but either through incompetence or executive meddling she turned what could have been a decent shojo magical girl series into a cartoon sitcom with a bunch of anime references taped onto it.

Same I never got the why Zig Forums turned on it, the show was well liked when it ended, it has flaws but they hardly ruin the run of the show as a whole.
Most of the complaints are based on Mabel being a selfish and Alex political views, I understand why people might hate that but still.

No, she didn't. One glance at the Tv Tropes page tells me she grew up in Tumblr and Twitter with only a vague knowledge of what magical girls are.

Alex might have turned into a weenie who ended his show badly, but it's still criminal to lump GF with that other trash on the whole.

Ironically, I actually respect Sugar a lot despite her crappy show.

Because Owl House on the surface has all the elements there of a faux anime that heavily attracts the interests of artists. They like the colors, designs, they like all the art Dana does of the characters. You don't need to have watched the show to know that Eda and King are fun characters to draw. I'm willing to bet most people who draw the show barely keep up with it, they just skim it and wait until something cute with Eda or Amity happens then watch those bits while tuning out the rest of the episode.

It kind of reminds me when fanartists of Xiaolin Showdown would ignore every episode that wasn't a Jack Spicer heavy episode. The Apprentice probably spawned the most fanart and fan fic out of the show, along with the episode where Good Jack is introduced.

I like TOH and I find the obvious forced spammed threads just as annoying as the SU spam of yore.

Put it that way I can see why the owl house is popular, it’s completely artificial.
I think Gf if just ok and SU terrible, but I completely understand why people love and are passionate about them. It’s not artifical, it’s real love for the content it has. With Owl house, it’s a fake love based entirely on superficial reason. That’s pretty sad.

All these shows really convey a certain mood/theme early on so later the fans have to accept whatever direction it goes.
