According to Zig Forums fujos are actually a pretty lucrative market and important parts of certain shonen successes. So we probably could get more fun action shows with male characters if we just made them CUTE.
I think merchandising departments are also kind of crappy. They don’t release good quality products and they take too long to release. It was a bad show in the end but Voltron (the only Western fujo pandering show) actually had some nice merch, I got a necklace and have gotten lots of compliments on it. I wish that level of thought was present in other shows instead of garbage bin quality we usually get.
