The animations in this movie looks like are running in a potato PC
The animations in this movie looks like are running in a potato PC
Because it has different animation styles?
My favourite was Spider-Pork's animation.
It took me a couple minutes to get used to it. All the more credit that they commited to a low frame rate for artistic purposes.
>b-but it's supposed to be bad!!!1
pleb filter
Probably budget related
I remember watching a quick interview with the animators of this film. There's a thematic element to the animation apparently.
Guys, they clearly just didn't have the fucking budget. The choppiness isn't artistic. It didn't fucking add anything to the film. They just cut down on the framerate to save cash.
I always thought the Animation looked pretty good
Please be baiting
Art isn't acceptable justification here, especially not when one of the characters is black and therefore its an SJW production
>There's a thematic element to the animation apparently.
The more skilled a character is at being a superhero the higher a "framerate" they have. You can literally watch Miles get animated differently once Peter B teaches him how to swing properly.
>its an SJW production
So you're saying low framerate was a political statement? Like America is incomplete?
and yet taht movie still earned more money in a year then u will in a lifetime
>potato machine outplayed OP once again
>choppiness
What you mean?
Aaaaaand filtered.
I wonder if any of the scenes were edited so that they ran at a higher framerate. Not to prove the movie looks bad the way it is but just to see how it'd look with faster animation.
I don’t even like the movie but it’s still one of the best looking animated films in a while
I remember it being thematically appropriate.
Miles frame were fewer and thus more "choppier" than the other Spidermen.
It was supposed to indicate that he was incompetent and inexperienced compared to the spiders who've been in the job for a while.
The dynamic is honestly well done and it's the most interesting part about the movie. How Miles have to sing in order to stick off the ceiling, and Peter teaching him how to swing was fun and interesting.
It's just a shame that the movie just makes him component just by making him "believe in himself" or whatever, instead of utilizing the dynamic they showed before
Also a very nice touch was after the burger scene, where Peter just casually walks up the wall while Miles has a harder time catching up with him.
Are you guys all just fucking boomers or something? Who had trouble watching this movie?
The frames idea was nice but it failed in the execution and should've been axed. If it needs to be explained and actively causes headaches to the audience, it's not working.
>If it needs to be explained and actively causes headaches to the audience
except the vast majority of people who watched and loved the film clearly didn't have a problem with it
I seriously didn't even know people had a hard time watching this.
The vast majority of people who loved the movie were distracted by bright colors and wacky humor
I don't know, it might have not worked for you and other people, but I think experimenting new visual ways to convey information this way should be encouraged.
It certainly was creative, if not visually appealing to you.
There's a lot of complaints that you can make about the movie, but I don't think animation is one of them.
You really have no way of proving that except for anecdotal recollection of people's online opinions, the same way my argument is based on the same thing except it was complaining
Continuing
honestly, I'm one of those guys who think thematic relevance should come before visual appeal.
>Miles movement feels awkward and out of place!
Good, you're supposed to feel that way. It means that Miles is, literally, a few beats behind the more experienced crew.
He is supposed to not fit in, and showing that Visually is something that animation as medium is made for.
It's creative and something that can't be done with live action.
How come the dragon prince always gets lampooned for doing the same “wannabe 2d animated” low frame rate gimmick
>Everyone always bitching about “muh 60fps”
>Movie with literal 14fps animation comes put
>*crickets*
Because it's shitty for no good reason.
I hear they were trying to mimicked the old animation style, but that doesn't really add anything to the narrative thematically.
It just looks like shit overall without any good reason
