>Production on the live-action/CGI hybrid is set to begin filming next spring in Los Angeles, California. The studio is also prepping this film as a part of their original films for Disney+. Another cool tidbit on the project we are hearing but have not been able to confirm, is the original voice cast for the Rescue Rangers team, Tress MacNeille (Chip and Gadget), Corey Burton (Dale and Zipper), and Jim Cummings (Monterey Jack) are all expected to return for the film.
>Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers is set to be directed by Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), one-third of Lonely Island along with Andy Samberg and Jorma Tacoma. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, who produced The Muppets as well as Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast are producing.
>Plot details are being kept under wraps but it will not be an origin story nor detective agency story. Rather, the take is being described as being meta, something self-referential and cool. The film was written by How I Met Your Mother writing duo Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, Barry Schwartz wrote a previous draft of the script.

I've got a bad feeling about this, dudes. Chipmunks and live-action/CG hybrids don't mix well

Wasn't this supposed a CalArts style animated reboot?
That's a separate project, supposedly it's still coming out this year
Angones’ reboot pilot even sounds better the this
What was that? He had a full pitch?

NO, I don't want there to be another Fat Albert movie (where the show they're adapting is an actual show on TV, but due to some magic or some shit, the characters pop out of the TV and there's a big adventure with a person who's ether an loser or a dick/bitch)
Yeah, it was going to have three plotlines running concurrently.
1. Olivia Flaversham, acting as an aging Basil's apprentice, thwarts a plot set in motion by Ratcliffe before his death. Ends with Olivia founding the modern Rescue Aid Society.
2.Late 80s Early 90s, Bernard and Bianca are the head of the RAS when the same plot set in motion resurfaces. The RAS is destroyed and Bianca is missing in action, leaving Bernard bitter and wracked with guilt.
3. Modern day, an elderly Bernard reluctantly mentors Chip and Dale as they revive the RAS in the form of the Rescue Rangers (Bernard insisted on the name change so as to not tarnish the RAS legacy when they inevitably fail horribly).
Ratigan, not Ratcliffe.
I think they mix well but nogirls

Impressive if true. I was expecting Gadget to be voiced by whoever happened to be on top of the Billboard charts at casting time.
Still going to be shit, though.
>Impressive if true
That was my reaction as well. It's one of those things that I both wish was true and expect not to be.
>Chipmunks and live-action/CG hybrids don't mix well
>live-action/CGI hybrid
pass
hoax
Does it mean that we're gonna see Gadget shitting on a couch?
This is a true Monkey's Paw situation. The original cast! Yay! Creepy CGI? Noooo.
It would be better if it were 2D animated.
>be in the cartoon business
>your only job prospects are "live action" monstrosities or beans
I seriously hope Disney fucking dies.
Gadget should have a scene where she hides inside a guys pants and runs around tickling him, wouldn't that be funny haha
Is there more info about this? I like it
So do I.
And the guy cums in his pants, covering Gadget with semen.
He already died in 1966, though.
I agree. The last time Disney made anything good was 2002.
>CGI
>Disney+
crap
Can that dude write anything that isn't so overstuffed you could use it as a Thanksgiving centerpiece? Those could be three different episodes.

>If you're impatient, the realization of impending doom starts at 1:08.
Let’s not forget that Gadget’s kind was the one responsible for the Plague back in the 14th century.
I’m willing to guess that Gadget will be a transgender rat in the movie.
>being meta, something self-referential and cool
because that worked so well for The Muppets
Should we start taking bets on whether their apartment has a framed drawing of Chip fucking Gadget that's on a far wall always out of focus, like Garfield did with the "fuck my cat" edit
