It def had that reputation - I remember Animaniacs took a dig at it too.
As a kid I mostly found the show annoying with a few episodes I liked. Never hated it but it was a lot weaker compared to the other Disney Afternoon shows. Still kind of neat seeing a cameo though.

I don't get why they had to remove the villains at the end. It would have been much more interesting to let them stay and be sent to jail.

Because the people working on the show think that makes for "strong female character" and they need to go out of their way to give them as much screentime as possible while making them act like cunts and also shit on every male character when possible, It is their way to ""FIX"" the source material.
Remember that they also changed Burger because the old one was "offensive" to fat people, They are THAT retarded.

No, but these punches are sure to show that they don't like Bonkers. I was expecting a better cameo for the Bonkers, not kicks but this is the first time so far, we’ll see if he reappears and doesn’t get a nasty treatment, as Donald Duck mostly gets.
