Toy Story was pretty good CGI-wise for the mid 90s, though I agree that Toy Story 2 was a little more fluid in terms of its animation and Toy Story 3/4 are far better rendered.

I love it in the same way people listen to chiptune music, in its' limitations lie secret brilliance. It's blocky and basic, yes, but it's also very creative and you can tell these animators are very inventive and hungry.

They took some risks. Not everything looks like chef from Ratatouille.
