Magnificent ms marvel cancelled

>"Over the years, Ms. Marvel has drawn fans everywhere into the Marvel Universe through her heroism, her strength, and her quintessential story about what it means to be a hero – a story that we all can hear and relate to," states Cebulski.

>"Saladin and Minkyu's run on Ms. Marvel took that journey to thrilling new heights within the Marvel Universe, and the creative team here has been truly magnificent. We are so excited to show you what's in store for Kamala next. More news to come in 2021!"

no

>Saladin wipes her mom's knowledge of Kamala's identity because he can't be arsed to write for the idea that a teen hero can trust at least one parent.
Fuck him!

Was it good?

It was in the first run when they were actually trying to make her and her setting unique, but then the first relaunch happened and she got turned into another Spider-Man protecting another NYC, and it was shit.

>sales in decline in all formats
>champions cancelled
>marvel team up cancelled
>marvel rising both the comic and cartoon are dead
>Avengers game starring kamala is in a death spiral
>This run was ahmeds worst selling book in the floppies and was kept alive just for an event and to introduce a character for a future event
They must be really hoping the show turns shit around.

I didn't bother continuing with it when it came back from hiatus. Judging from the first few arcs, it was like he saw people calling her this generation's Peter Parker and ran with it.

>her mom has the knowledge of her secret taken away so she has to sneak in and out again
>she gets a costume that gives her cool new abilities but it starts taking over and becomes an evil mirror version of herself

Isn't he writing Miles right now where his parents know he's Spider-man

Hickman and his awful Secret Wars killed her book

It drew the first blood, but it was Civil War II thay truly killed her.

She will get relaunched.
It would be bad press if Marvel permanently cancelled their only Muslim books.

You mean Marvel realizing she was received and giving her the wolverine push killed her. It would have happened even without the relaunch. When will they learn that because a character is popular doesn't mean you have to shove them in every other book to show they are important. Especially when it contrast with the tone of the initial book.

This.

At this point, the press doesn't give a shit about the book itself. They care about that MCU show more.

I fear she be like post KSD carol and up with a string cancelled books in an endless relaunch cycle

They should’ve just left her in Jersey having rookie hero adventures, but marvel wants to try and fast track any young hero to events and shit.

Probably.

I love Kamala Khan comic books series. What are the chances this is the actual end for her having her own comic book series ever again? What are the chances this is a minor comic book restart with a new comic book named?

They care about clickbait and news. If they don’t relaunch Kamala’s book (especially since there is a Kamala running for VP) then they could get ticked off and start a smear campaign.

Latter. They will relaunch the book with a new writer.

My bet is Kamala Khan: Ms Marvel.

So an annoying restart I'd probably bury going to even notice by the time I get the book since I buy them and paperbacks?

Most likely it's an Eternal situation where the relaunch is made resemble the show. At worst Kamala get team zoned.

So a relaunch in 2021 then

Probably.

Why isn’t this thread talked about more??

Doesn’t Zig Forums love Kamala? Shouldn’t this make you sad?

This is Zig Forums and she is a goddamn muslim. Kamala is a signal of the collapse of our civilization along with Captain Marvel Carol Danvers' costume. We want to forget she ever existed.

She works as a minor hero dealing with small threats. An inexperienced hero with decent but not overly strong powers doing stuff mostly on her own

The second she got involved with the Avengers, got put in a team, got a tech suit, could draw on multiverse powers, it lost that feel. Needs to go back to that.

Kamala and Miles suck compared to based Sam, stupid Marvel

>the appeal of Kamala's book is the relatively low stakes and localness of her adventures and her supporting cast
>Wilson leaves and Ahmed replaces her
>immediately sends her into space for high stakes sci-fi adventures away from her supporting cast
>when she does finally come back doesn't use them
>is more concerned with inventing more Paki superheroes for Kamala to hang out with instead
>also pretending anyone cares about her dumb living suit
Can't say I'm surprised it got cancelled. Ahmed seemed to have a warped and incorrect understanding as to what the actual appeal of her book was. Hopefully the next writer gets it correct and keeps things localized to Jersey City and remembers her actual fucking friends.

Are you kidding? Just look at what she's wearing.

Her sales had been struggling slightly for awhile, but her popularity in the public eye, and decent trade numbers saved her. Covid probably killed her along with a lot of floppy series (Just look at DC tripling down on Batman) The bad press of the Avengers game doesn't help her standing either. 2021 should be alright for her though. Covid should hopefully be cleared by mid 2021, her show will be out by then, and she might cameo in a decent cartoon for once. Her book won't be gone for long.

Low stakes? There were no fucking stakes at all when Wilson was writing in the second run, because she wanted to turn the book into Persepolis and was clearly resenting being forced to do it with superheroes.

We just need someone who can go back to the first run's overall tone, though it seems the damage is too severe to fix barring a total BS asspull (like everything after the first reboot was just an alternate timeline).

I love her.
